Review summary

It was our first time with NCL, and it was a very good experience. We appreciated the variety of free restaurant options and the quality of the destinations (even though we didn't choose any NCL excursions). The excursions offered by NCL are much too expensive compared to similar options on GetYourGuide. The cabin was good, and the ship was really enjoyable.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
The boarding process was really quick and without any issues, it was pleasant.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
I enjoyed all the meals and food offered on the ship. I particularly liked the variety of free restaurant options, allowing us to change the types of dishes we ate each day.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We didn't participate in many activities on board because they didn't appeal to us.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
The service from the staff was excellent, courteous, and friendly.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was really clean. The decor of our cabin was simple but very nice. The rest of the ship is also understated and without frills.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was spacious, even for three people. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom was large and practical. The balcony was big enough to accommodate three people.

Ship tip

Getting just one drink package for the group is enough to obtain free drinks for everyone. Go to the buffet (Surfside Café & Grill) very early, as it gets crowded quickly. Booking a room with a balcony is definitely worth it (even for trips to Norway/Iceland); we were able to enjoy stunning landscapes and even spot whales from the balcony. The ship's free Wi-Fi only worked on Instagram (in my case), so I was able to save money while still staying in touch with my loved ones on Insta.

Ports of call

Geiranger, Norway

5 out of 5
Geiranger is truly breathtaking. We chose an excursion to drive the Eagle Road, which offers views of several waterfalls and glaciers. The guide was very kind and pleasant. The town of Geiranger is quite small, but there are large souvenir shops. Be sure not to miss the scenery after the boat departs in the evening; it is majestic.

Isafjordur, Iceland

5 out of 5
The landscape of Isafjordur is majestic and breathtaking. We spent time on the balcony admiring the view. We chose an excursion to visit an Icelandic farm (with a tasting of a traditional pastry), and then we went to see the Dynjandi waterfalls. The scenery is stunning and mesmerizing.

Amsterdam, Netherlands

2 out of 5
We were a bit disappointed by Amsterdam. The streets were dirty, the bins were overflowing, and there was a strong smell of weed. We did see some beautiful landmarks and took a boat tour of the canals. However, we quickly saw everything of interest.

Akureyri, Iceland

5 out of 5
We took a morning excursion to see the Godafoss waterfalls, which were truly magnificent and a must-see! In addition, we took a RIB boat in the afternoon to see the whales. It was an unforgettable experience that I highly recommend to everyone (#freepaulwatson).

Reykjavik, Iceland

5 out of 5
We chose the Golden Circle excursion. It was truly beautiful. We started with a magnificent crater, then visited the Gullfoss waterfalls and the geysers. Finally, we ended at the rift separating the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates. It was really incredible.

Alesund, Norway

3 out of 5
Unfortunately, we experienced a day of heavy rain, so we couldn’t explore the city for long. However, the Art Deco-style houses are really beautiful and colorful. The streets are calm.

Zeebrugge (Bruges), Belgium

4 out of 5
We chose to explore the city of Bruges on our own. There is a paid shuttle service at the port exit that takes you to the southern part of Bruges. It’s easy to get around the city and visit the main landmarks independently. The city is very beautiful and clean.

Bergen, Norway

4 out of 5
We chose an excursion to explore the fjords and see beautiful waterfalls. The city of Bergen is very pleasant to explore.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very quick and convenient, just like when we arrived.
