It was a nice ship but everything was geared toward the older crowd... nothing for young children...

I was very underwhelmed with this cruise. The food in the restaurants that were included with the fare was gross. I had better dorm food when I was in college. There were 8 restaurants that you had to pay between $10-25 per person to go to. The food there was not very good either. The steaks in the main dining hall were approx 1/4 inch thick and tough. They served the exact same menu everyday. I was also extremely annoyed at the staff member that stood at every entrance/exit to dining halls and said "washy washy happy happy" and sprayed a hand sanitizer on my hands whether I wanted it or not. They were very pushy and it was very off putting. There were numerous wall mounted sanitizing stations that I could have used instead of being accosted by the staff. For the above reasons I will NEVER cruise on NCL again. The views from our balcony were great, but unfortunately we were unable to go to Juneau due to a propeller issue with the ship. They refunded 1/7 of our cruise fare in the form of onboard credit. Then they had the nerve to try to charge me a fee to use that credit in the casino. Instead I decided to have the money refunded to my credit card. The staff was constantly trying to nickel and dime us for everything. The onboard events that interested us required a fee. We were very unsatisfied with this cruise and will not use NCL in the future. The onboard events that were free were clearly meant for an older crowd. For example, there were several seminars on how to deal with arthritis, chronic back pain, non surgical face lifts, hip pain, etc.

this was our first and definitely will not be the last cruise. we were on Pearl and the staff, food , the cleanliness was absolutely excellent. We felt like a big family of 2500 and there was so much of positive energy. enjoyed all the excursions except the Mendenhall glaciers. so, to make up that we did the Discovery Glaciers thru M&M Tours reight in front of the Yukon Rail stop. the helicopter ride and the landing and a walking on the glaciers was a lifetime experience.

We called for an iron a few times and it took forever the first time and the second time it never came. That and the fact that you had to pay extra for everything; bingo, restaurants, bowling, drinks were my biggest complaints. Everything else was great and it was my first cruise so I had a good experience.

The food on NCL left a good bit to be desired. Freestyle cruising gets a thumbs down. We missed the rapport with our waitstaff that we had on other ships. NCL also nickles and dimes its guests for things that are included on other cruise lines

Overall the ship was well taken care of and clean. The Garden Cafe was a bit dated but still clean and functional.

Norwegian Cruise Line does not allow you check-in after you make full payment, and does not give you any refund. Do NOT give business to Norwegian Cruise Line, otherwise you will lose big money.

We were very dissapointed in the overall cruise. My husband and I bragged up the cruise with my 5 sisters and there husbands being there first cruise. Little did we know there was a convention on board at the same time. 600 doctors which had the rule of the ship. One of the main dinning rooms was closed as well as the main theather and other smaller rooms throughout the ship. Because of one dinning room closed everyone who chose to eat in the other main dinning room had a waiting time of 90 minutes just to get in, then another 30 minutes between courses. Of course there were other places to eat throughout the ship at an extra cost to you. The food was the same everynight with 3 alternate entrees to choose from. Also there was only one buffett which had to accommidate all the people on board. Food was low quality and very dissapointing. Activities on board were also dissapointing. they offered bingo every day but you can only afford one day of that at $50 a game. The activities lacked in substance and entertainment. We thought they would have a nice 4th of july celebration but nothing but a few decorations in the buffett area. Overall a big let down after planning for a year to take this cruise. We will not be doing a Norweigain cruise again.

Love the pearl

We recently took a cruise to Alaska June 2011 on the Pearl. We have been on other cruise lines before and thought we would take a chance with NCL - we will not go on one again. No one was friendly, staff seemed to be put out if you asked for anything, had to ask every night for an extra towel, no one smiled in dining staff, food plates were hot to the touch, almost too hot to touch or carry food, not enough bowls several days, when you put cold food on hot plates it is not good, get more dinner ware. It took so long to find a place to several mornings for breakfast that by the time we found a table my food was cold. - no one seem to care. Felt like it was a flea market atmosphere, always something on sale, everyone trying to sell you something. Was told there was a bowling alley on board, which we were excited about, come to find out there is an extra charge per person to do that. Wanted to exercise and take a spin class, or yoga class, but there was an extra charge per day to do that. Spa was nice but when I booked my second appointment I was told "guess you like the specials" - to me implying I didn't want to pay full price. Not how I want to cruise - Won't cruise again with NCL.

Fantastic ship

The food was great and the staff was very professional and nice. I have gone on a few cruises and the Norweigan Pearl was absolutely great. Our next one will be the Norweigan Epic and I can't wait.
