Review summary

So, why has NCL decided to cheapen this cruise? It's such a contrast to nearly all of my past NCL cruises. NCL raises the cruise fares and yet it subtracts from the customer experience. The entertainment component of this cruise was the worst ever!! Cheap acts. As I have already mentioned, the specialty dinings were good. But NCL needs to stop with the cutbacks. For example in Cagney's Steakhouse I could order as many apps, salads and sides as I wanted. Now you can only select between one app or salad and only one side! I ordered the crabcake as my app. One bite...... smelled and tasted like old fish. Returned it. They offered another app so I chose the shrimp cocktail. In the pasy I would received 5 or 6 jumbo shrimp. Now you get 3 medium shrimp. It's the little things that disappoint. Wait staff and room steward was great.

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The restaurants (main and specialty) were the only positive aspects of this cruise although the specialty restaurants have cut back on their offerings (can't get two apps!!).

Onboard Activities

Same old, same old

Entertainment

1 out of 5
Absolutely the worst I have ever experiences in my 28 cruises (25 on NCL). N0 top-shelf entertainment at all. Comedian was awful. Variety show sucked. Legends in Concert was a joke. And will somebody tell the cruise director how to dress. She looked like a 5 pound bag with 10 lbs of potatoes stuffed inside.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff is always the best. Hard working, polite, and thorough. It's management that makes decisions that turn out to be wrong for the customer.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

OK... seemed as if the cabins got smaller.

Ship tip

Do not spend your money on this cruise. Overpriced for the value (or lack thereof) you receive.

NCL isn't the only cruise line to "cheapen" things up. Post pandemic, we cruised with Royal in April and September of 2022 and again in January of 2023, and there was a marked difference between the 2022 cruises and the 2023 cruise. We were very surprised and somewhat disappointed by the cost cutting measures implemented by Royal. Apparently, what we experienced this year is the "new normal". It's still a good value for our vacation dollars but disappointing all the same.

Everything has changed since covid, in the cruise industry and on land. Still a great vacation though.

Appreciate your feedback. Sorry this cruise didn’t meet your expectations. Sadly, food seems to be the worst thing across the industry since the restart.
