Terrible Cruise- this was a “Guinea Pig” cruise to give the port of Boston a run in!
30% of the passengers were contractors or travel agents.
I feel that it should have been shared with us of this cruises status. The whole thing felt like a bait and switch cash grab. I will most likely NEVER cruise NCL again.
Horrible to families! And an utter shXt show!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Terrible, the agent at check in took 30 minutes to check in 4 people. While other passengers breezed by, we were stuck with a woman who entered all of our information incorrectly and had my 13 y.o. Daughter listed as my birth date. Jeopardized our ability as a family to disembark in Bermuda.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

Fine. Usual fare.
Onboard Activities

Pools closed, hot tubs at capacity all the time. Bingo cost $120 for 30 minutes ( 3 games - really? ) the winners only got $100 and $200 respectively. Huge cash grab.
Requested a basketball ( courts were closed before 5 pm as listed ) and were told we couldn’t play due to dinner being served, offered a $100 arcade pass? Really - cash grab - again! Rock wall always closed.
Entertainment

No big show in Stardust theatre due to performer being Ill. The duos playing in the lounges were great, but only performed for :30 at a time.
Children's Programs

You have no right to even ask this question. Treatment of my 2 teenage children and our friends 2 children was horrifying .
They were 4 of a very small number of children on the ship. Staff made no attempts to help get them involved. Teen club was mostly closed, and they wouldn’t allow a younger sibling (12) to hang out with his sister and friends.
I saw the manifest in the teen club- it was a page and a half long…. So 45 kids maybe? They did nothing to assist us to find a way to get something they could all do together. They withheld sporting equipment from them, and my son (18) was shooed out of the gym and harassed by an employee ( I was right there, and if we were on land there would have been a problem).
So- nothing good for kids about this cruise.
Service and Staff

Fine, but hard to get too excited while other issues were occurring.
Ship Quality

Fine. Although website upon booking said there was a water slide. There is not ( it was removed in 2017 ?) bait and switch?
Cabin / Stateroom

Smaller than standard balcony cabins on MSC , Carnival, and RCL. For you guessed it : double the price. Never again!
Ship tip
Good luck. Don’t bring your family. NCL seems to abhor children!
Ha ha ha! Shitshow of epic proportions!!! Supposed to dock at 9:30 am, docked at 11:30 because of fog.But then — as all 700 ( estimated) passengers and their luggage were crammed onto floor 7 ( atrium )The CD made an announcement that we had a MANDATORY immigration check in Indigo ( on 6 ) We’re we’re told NO ONE would be getting off the ship until we were all seen. So NCL sends 700 people ( including disabled persons and elderly persons ) with luggage up and down a level on the ship. They then send everyone outside ( with luggage) to zig zag through one deck. The cruise staff DID NOT communicate anything after their first announcement about disembarking. We found that the travel agents on board for training were more helpful in disembarking than any crew or staff.I witness your Cruise Director ( Tiara ) literally yell at a fellow passenger with 2 small children during this debacle. I sure hope that lady lets you know as well.
My first and only NCL cruise was a $h1tshow as well, and will never cruise them again. My brother also had a terrible experience on his one and only NCL cruise as well.
Thanks for the review. Cruise Rule # 1 - Never cruise during Spring Break season (March 1 - late April). Cruise Rule # 2 - Never book an Inaugural Cruise on a new ship or the first few sailings after a Refurbishment or re-start of an older ship.
