Review summary
This was our first cruise and due to the experience probably our last, and definitely the last on Norwegian.
The ports were great, but only really had enough time in Skagway to do both shore excursions and explore the town. Arrived too early into Ketchikan and too late into Victoria and didn't stay long enough. Glacier bay was great.
The cabin was clean and recently remodeled, but it's location adjacent to the gangway for ports made it at times unusable do to crew and passenger noise next to it. We were driven from the room one day at 4am due to banging and scraping on the wall. while in port thousand are going by making noise. Do not book room 4568 under any condition!
Food in the buffet and dining rooms were Denny's quality and seating in the buffet was pathetic. Several times we had to eat standing in the aisle. Only highlight of the dining was two specialty dining areas, the Brazilian steakhouse and Teppenyaki. Both were quite good.
Casino was so full of cigarette smoke you could go near it. The smoke also was all around the entrance to the theater. Couldn't walk on deck without being choked by cigarette smoke too.
The whole cruise all they tried to do was sell you. Go to the massively overpriced spa. Buy diamonds or expensive watches. Put a deposit down on another cruise. Was sick and tired of the constant sell, sell, sell.
Crew was okay but not exceptional. Filed multiple complaints about the unacceptable noise and was comped a dinner and got a small box of chocolates. That for getting now sleep for 3 nights. Not worth it. The worse was be decieved by NCL on the cabin when we booked it. It was "recommended" by them as the best in the area. What they should have said was it is next to the gangway and to expect lots of noise. We would have gladly paid more for another room had we known that.
