The ship and the ship's facilities were great - lots to do. The crew works very hard to keep the ship clean.
Also, we are Latitudes members and were supposed to be offered a Captain's reception at some point during the cruise but this did not happen. Not sure why...
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
Overall, though, my family and I were not a fan of the "Freestyle" dining experience. We found that the service levels were not very good in any of the included restaurants. We had a completely different experience in the "extra" restaurants - great food and service at Le Bistro, Cagney's, Teppanyaki, The Sushi Bar. It's worth the extra money to get the better service and food at these restaurants but the included dining restaurants were very disappointing (food was good at these but poor service and very long lines).
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Great for the kids - between the bowling, basketball, golf and workout rooms, our older son had a great time on the cruise.
Children's Programs

Our younger son participated in the children's center activities but didn't love it. Not sure why
Service and Staff

I think the freestyle aspect prevents this. Our stateroom crew were great - willing to bring extra towels or pillows, etc. But the rest of the staff seemed too harried...certainly never seemed to go above and beyond for anything during our cruise.
Ship Quality

The ship is very clean.
Cabin / Stateroom

We had a mini-suite. It was not very big but it was sufficient in size. NCL does not offer any additional amenities for mini-suite passengers.
We tried to do a whale-watching excursion (since the first was so good) but unfortunately, there was a technical problem with the boat so we had to go back to port. The staff was great though and let us off in the city so we could explore and refunded the price of the excursion.
We did the Mendenhall Glacier and Whalewatching excursion. It was wonderful - a highlight of the trip. We saw whales breaching, bald eagles, etc. A great day!
We did the train ride excursion. Long but beautiful scenery and very informative. (TIP: Since it's long, bring a snack or pack a lunch from one of the restaurants or cafe's in Skagway; especially if you have kids. The train provides water only and doesn't have snacks for sale)
