Review summary

A cruise is a great get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and to experience new places to visit.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Easy process, especially when you have checked in online before arrival.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Drinks were great. Food in the main dining rooms were god, but not excellent. The speciality restaurants (Ocean Blue, Le Bistró, and Teppanyaki) were great.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Lots of activities to choose from!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The Footloose production, the Elements magic extravaganza, and the Levity Comedy show with Rodney Laney were exceptional - not to be missed.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The best staff in every way - providing top customer service with a smile.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything on the ship was well maintained and cleaned.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Perfect cabin - comfortable, clean, and sound proof. Especially enjoyed the balcony.

Ports of call

New York, New York

Love NYC, arriving a day before the cruise to see Music Man Musical on Broadway with Hugh Jackman. Did some sightseeing and shopping in the a Times Square area the next day, before boarding the ship. It’s a perfect location to depart from!

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island Did not visit port

A hurricane proceeded our scheduled arrival, causing a black out in power throughout the island. We were not able to dock there, so our ship’s captain took us to Newfoundland instead.

Sydney, Nova Scotia Did not visit port

Halifax, Nova Scotia

Took the “Best of Halifax and Peggy Cove” tour. Highly recommend. Just wished we had more time before going back to the ship.

Saint John, New Brunswick

5 out of 5
Went on the Whale Watching excursion. Saw a few whales along with porpoises.

Portland, Maine

5 out of 5
Took the “Best of a Portland and Kennebunkport” tour. Just wished the tour was longer.

Boston, Massachusetts

4 out of 5
Took the Historic Boston and Cambridge Tour. Wished there was more time to experience the city - especially the Freedom Trail - before heading back to ship. The only downside was we were told the day before that the originally scheduled tour buses were not available, so school buses were used instead. It was a poor choice - uncomfortable seats, small windows to see out, and a poor speaker system making it hard to hear the tour guide. Once we were off the bus, everything was great.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
New York City. The disembarkation process was smooth, however you were required to leave the ship at 9 am to catch the NCL arrange transportation to Newark airport with no sightseeing of the city available, while the people going to JFK and LaGuardia had a sightseeing city tour included.
