Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We ate at the Savor and Manhattan restaurants for dinner which were nicely appointed. Food and service was really good at both. One night we are at La Cucina, their Italian food specialty restaurant…that was very disappointing. Tasted like recycled buffet food. However, the 2nd specialty restaurant we dined in, Q Texas Smokehouse, more than made up for it. Really good menu and tasty food. Order the PitMaster’s plate at your own risk. It’s a lot of food! But it was delicious. And the banana pudding & skillet brownie was perfect. We had 1 visit for lunch and dinner at the Local restaurant. It was okay. Wish their selection was a bit more expanded but otherwise, it was fine. A treat was the lunch we had at the Observation Lounge. Food was good, different than the Garden Cafe 1 floor above. But it was the environment that made the OL special. Quiet, great views all around and plenty of seating. Rest of our meals were at the Garden Cafe. Needed a bigger selection in my opinion. But the food was good.

Onboard Activities

2 pools were small but weren’t too crowded when we went. Kids water park was fun for my 5 year old. Couldn’t do the go karts due to weight restrictions (missed the cut by 3 pounds….my fault, not theirs). The VR games were fun. And the 3 of us enjoyed the arcade games. The games at the Atrium hosted by staff were fun

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The Footloose and Elements shows were fantastic. One of the best cruise theater experiences I’ve enjoyed. Also liked the musical acts around the ship.

Children's Programs

My daughter loved the kids club. And the schedules were great.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Very happy with the service provided by cabin and dining staff.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship was clean throughout. Wish there had been a 3rd elevator bank. Too much walking between front of ship where our cabin was and the closest elevator. Not a problem, just an observation.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Spacious, clean….never felt crowded with the 3 of us. Wish there was a table on balcony but not a big deal that there wasn’t one.

Ship tip

Book your specialty dining and show tickets early.

Did the glass bottom boat and snorkel tour. Was fun but the snorkel location wasn’t great. Had to swim a while before seeing a lot of fish. But the crew was very nice. Also took local bus to Horseshoe Bay Beach and had a fun time there.

Disembarkation

Thinking we could walk off with our luggage would save us time and frustration was absolutely wrong. I will never do that again on a Norwegian cruise. The lines, frustration, disorganization, and length of time it took to disembark was terrible.
