Norwegian Joy

7 Night Bermuda & Atlantic Coast (New York Roundtrip)

Sail date: July 03, 2022

Ship: Norwegian Joy

Traveled as: Family (older children)

Review summary

This was a basic trip with my husband and two teenage sons. They were bored a lot and the things for their ages were lame. In Bermuda they enjoyed parasailing and the fun park right in front of the ship in Dockyard.

Embarkation

2 out of 5
Embarkation was crazy… the lines were like Disney and no one was adhering to embarkation times

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
I only ate at the places I already paid for. Taste and Savor were the best choices. The Garden Grill was super boring except for the Indian food and the noodle soup.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Bingo, bingo, bingo, show, CruiseNext lecture. The pool was so packed, there were 1,000 kids on the ship so you can imagine. The race track and galaxy pavilion are way overpriced for the fun they provide.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Footloose was wack but Elements was better. I thought the Beatles show was excellent and I’m not even a Beatles fan.

Children's Programs

I have teens

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
The staff are working hard so that you can have a good time.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
I think they work diligently to clean, upkeep and maintain the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Standard balcony room. Super clean and tidy thanks to our porter, Yogi.

Ship tip

Bring magnetic hooks and take advantage of vertical space.

Ports of call

New York, New York Did not visit port

I live here.

Norfolk, Virginia

1 out of 5
Everything was closed in Virginia, a ghost town.

Royal Naval Dockyard, West End, Bermuda

3 out of 5
Bermuda is pretty boring if not for the beaches. Unfortunately, it was Portuguese Man of War (jellyfish) season so the beaches were loaded with them. You pay $10-12 to get to a beach in a taxi, just to turn around and leave when you see the shore covered in them. No one was in the water.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Pretty easy and well managed.
