Review summary

The Joy is a beautiful ship but with a large section being taken up by the Haven, it limits space available to non Haven guests. One of the three pools, two hot tubs and a large deck area are reserved for the Haven guests leaving the two other pools and deck area extremely crowded. There needs to be more deck space and additional pool for such a large capacity ship. The rooms a wonderful with the largest cruise ship bathroom, I've ever had. The shows were outstanding with Broadway worthy performances. Overall the Joy is a great ship with wonderful staff but needs faster main dining service and larger common areas.

The selection and quality of food at the buffets and specialty restaurants was outstanding. The service at the main dining rooms was very slow. We often waited over 2 hours for our meals

Onboard Activities

The pools were way too small for 4,000 plus guests. We had to wake up by 7 to get chairs on the deck. There was not enough activities for kids. Fitness center was nice and clean but too small for so many guests
