Review summary

Overall, great experience. Great ship, crew, weather and food make a great vacation experience. Bermuda makes it even better. Enjoy the hell out of it.

Embarkation

1 out of 5
By far the slowest and most painful embarkation I’ve ever experienced. Took over three hours from exiting the car to boarding the ship. The most unbearable was waiting for room cards at the very end. That line alone took up almost 3 hours. Very frustrating and not a great way to start off the cruise.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Every meal of everyday was spot-on delicious. Wether is was a main dining room or the buffets, the food is high quality and great. The breakfast omelettes were great and never too busy. Menus in the main dining rooms rotated nightly and provided good variety each night.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Laser tag was crazy fun, definitely worth the $9. However, the speedway was too congested. Too many cars racing at once meant that there were crashes everywhere slowing everyone down. Not sure if it’s worth $15. Galaxy pavilion I would skip completely. The games were extremely short and not worth it. Waterslides and mini golf were very fun. Pools never too crowded. A lot of fun overall.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Great entertainment all around. Unfortunately, elements was canceled the night we had reserved, but footloose was great. Both comedians were also great. The Beatles shows were awesome. Game shows were hilarious even though the venue in which they’re shown is way too crammed with not nearly enough seating. All entertainment was pretty damn good.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Really phenomenal staff. Most staffers had a smile on their face ready to greet you. Buffet staff, bartenders, room steward, all so kind and friendly.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Crew did an amazing job keeping the ship tidy. Always felt clean and new. The design of the ship is also pretty cool, more of a contemporary feel and style.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Standard balcony cabin. A bit small for four people, but it was fine. The bunk takes a lot of the space away. Otherwise, the balcony was large and the room and the bathroom was comfortable.

Ship tip

Simply put, enjoy it. She’s a beautiful ship that will keep you occupied all week long. So just kick back and relax, the week will fly by. Also, reserve shows and theater events on touchscreen tv’s near every staircase.

Ports of call

Norfolk, Virginia

4 out of 5
Not too much to do in the immediate vicinity of where the ship docks. Most things Norfolk offers are a cab ride away. We stayed close to the ship and toured the Wisconsin. Huge museum complex perfect for history buffs like me. Walking distance from the ship.

New York, New York

3 out of 5
I live here so nothing new for me. sail away from NYC is always pretty cool though.

Royal Naval Dockyard, West End, Bermuda

5 out of 5
Bermuda never ceases to amaze. This is my third time here and it still is beyond beautiful. Horseshoe bay, st. George we’re all beautiful, clean and safe. Perfect island. Weather was equally perfect. Barely a raindrop throughout all three days.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Quick and easy. Off the ship and in the car within 40 minutes. All lines went quickly and everything seemed organized.
