Review summary

Over all we loved it. Wish we didn’t stop in Norfolk. I wouldn’t waste money on the specialty restaurants on this ship. The main dining rooms were wonderful. Definitely don’t get a transit pass. We did and it was waste of money. You just couldn’t rely on the busses to get you back to the ship when you wanted. Maybe when the busses are back to full capacity the problem will be solved. In our previous two trips to Bermuda we never had a problem.

Embarkation

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food and service in main dining rooms was wonderful! Service in ocean Blue was fantastic, but the food was not that great. I had the Cioppini and my wife had the Snapper. Both were just not that good. The crab cake appetizer was wonderful though. We also ate at Cagney’s. Which was awful. Both the service and the food was bad. Which was surprising because the specialty steak restaurants are always my favorites. I had the Porterhouse and it was as very tough. The lobster bisque was actually cold.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The race track is great. Golf was fun. Played ping pong. The music by the pool was terrible and way too loud. Completely for the young crowd.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The Beatles Revolution was very good. Comedians were great. A band called Wanted performed in the Texas Barbecue restaurant and was very good. Did not enjoy Elements at all.

Children's Programs

Did not bring children.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Room steward, “Marlin” was fantastic. Bartenders were very good at all the bars. Never waited long for a drink. Service from the waiters at the main dining rooms and Ocean Blue was very good.

Ship Quality

All good

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Would have 5 stars except for the ridiculous location of the closet. Could not get to the hanger side as it was blocked by the couch.

Ports of call

New York, New York

It’s just the embarkation point. Parking situation was very good.

Norfolk, Virginia Did not visit port

Had no interest in going there. It wasn’t on the itinerary when we booked the cruise.

Royal Naval Dockyard, West End, Bermuda

5 out of 5
We love Bermuda. It was our 4th trip there. The only draw back was Covid related. We’ve always relied on the bus/ferry system. How ever because of Covid the buses are not running at full capacity. Returning to the ship was a major problem. The busses would go right pas you because they were considered full. I suggest using mini busses or taxis.

Disembarkation

We were self assist and it was as very quick and easy. We were in our car by 8:00sm.
