Review summary

Wrong time of year to visit Bermuda. Wait until May at least. Bermuda permits were unusual but fairly easy to get after you pay $40 and get tested for covid. Didn't receive permit until night before the cruise when we were already in NY. Made us nervous because what if they denied or did not respond, but it worked out OK. 1st thing NCL asked at the pier for was the Bermuda permit and test results so you must get both. Cruise line was fine. Will book NCL again but will check deck plans closely before booking.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Fine until someone at the pier announced all passengers can line up. Then it became very crowded and slow. Bag drop off went well.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining room and Cagney's (extra money) were great. Savor DR not so much. Got the bumbs rush, no bread, tough food. No one assigned to our table so we had several different servers; none of whom cared about our service.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Lots to do, but weather didn't allow us to partake in any outdoor activities. Fitness center was nice.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The ship cancelled some shows, but what we saw was OK.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Excellent room steward, and the waitresses at the Atrium Bar were excellent. Other bars kept closing for private events. (We don't like being excluded like second class passengers.)

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Too late now, but the ship should have a third bank of elevators at mid-ship. 500' walk at least wherever you wanted to go. Ship was very clean and seemed well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Typical cabin. Small but comfortable.

Ship tip

Look at the deck plan before you book your room to avoid long walks.

Ports of call

Royal Naval Dockyard, West End, Bermuda

3 out of 5
We took a tour of the island that lasted 5+ hours. Long with no food, short stops. A lot of driving. Nice driver but there are better tours for your limited time here.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Fastest ever. Ship, baggage claim and customs were great.

Not sure if the permits are still a thing but, where did you get it from?
