yes... for NCL they are using your card for both entry and charging.

Hello fellow cruiser, yes & yes!! Once you’re told you can check in, you will be asked to add your preferred cc, etc. Also, you will receive an email a few days out before cruising w/ the mandatory Muster Drill instructions. Make sure you comply. When you board The JOY, attendants will direct you to the theatre where they will scan your phone for verification & done w/ the drill!!
