Review summary

What a great way to see Mexico for the first time!  A great way to celebrate our anniversary, too. Warm and caring employees, good food and great excursions. Lots of activities to keep you busy on sea days.  Fun and exciting nightly shows.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
On other ships only 3 complimentary restaurants but on the Jewel there's 7. Wherever you eat, never seems to be crowded.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There were so many activities to keep you busy especially on days that we were at sea.

Service and Staff

Our room steward, Bernadette was great! Carlton in the Azura restaurant was wonderful! Such a positive attitude and always smiling. Al and Loida at the Java Cafe were so welcoming and pleasant.

Cabin / Stateroom

Good size room for both of us. Love, love the views from our balcony. When seas are rough, I'm prone to get seasick. On our last day back to LA, the seas were rough. Next cruise I'll be sure to get a room mid-ship.

Ship tip

Our room was on deck 8, forward. Best to go down to deck 7 then walk toward the aft of the ship, then on the elevator to deck 12 to the Garden Cafe, otherwise you'll be zigzaging through corridors.

Ports of call

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

Stayed at the Best Western San Pedro where they provided a free shuttle to the ship. The free Red Trolley takes you to 5 scenic areas of San Pedro. (only available on weekends)
