Review summary

On Thursday October 6, 2016 we were notified that we were not going to Mazatlan we was going to spend a extra night in Puerto Vallarta and then head for Cabo San Lucas due to maintenance issues. I had no ideal we were going to spend almost five(5) night on the open sea. Even though I have been on cruises prior to this one I had plans at each port that had to be cancelled. We should have been compensated in some way that we did not have to pay for everything we want to try and enjoy on the cruise. NCL contract Art 6 sec. f states that in the event of cancellation of voyage due to mechanical failure of the vessel the Guest is entitled to a full refund. Being that we only went to one(1) port we should be refunded at least 2/3 of our fare.

The cruise line called and notified 3 days ahead that vital maintenance had to be done. This means something wrong more than regular issues. So they were aware of issue because all shipboard data monitored real time. by fleet command. The one port cancelled on notice with day in Vallarta. Oops the repair took longer! I bet the repair crews and parts flown in for repair. Leaving later the vessel passed Cabo ( did not stop) but the passengers got to wave at Lands End So this is 2 ports missed and NCL aware of issues. Very Interesting! This like a plane flying with a yellow light. Oops they only have red or green. They did cancel due to knowing about passenger contract so only said a change in plans. Oops not a mechanical at sea or weather. This like a plane leaving with one out of two generators. Lits of vessels this year have changed port and took trips to no where due to weather in Atlantic and Gulf. People know when booking. A trip with knowledge of mechanical issue that may cause a large interruption in advertised schedule is stretching cancelling. It is willful since knowing mechanical or other vital problem.

I'm just sayin'.... I've never been on a cruise yet (46 days till I do) but 5 days a sea missing multiple stops(?) that seems a bit crazy. But what do I know. I just know that excellent customer service is the way to go ;) I can tell you that if the ship doesn't stop so I can see the Mayan ruins- I'm jumping and swimming to them myself! Heh. Not missing this opportunity :)

If I get on a flight in KC to land in New York, but in the air above New York, the crew says sorry we can't land here, we have to go back to KC. I'm sure once we arrive back in KC they would accommodate their customers in some way...even though, I drank their soda, ate their snacks, and used their crew. Pretty awful if they don't do something. I'm sorry your trip was tossed ashore :(

Either way from reading the abouve messages...you voyage wasn't cancelled....just change....probably for the safety of you the passangers on board. I am stll learning so feel free to let me know if I am wrong.

Didn't you just write that you went to PV for 2 night and Cabo for one? In my head when I do the math you only missed 1 port....Mazatlan...please correct me if I am wrong and mis-read your post.

I read cancellation of voyage (being on the ship), not full refund for ports missed. That is how the contract is read.

Plans were canceled. Voyage wasn't cancelled. It was modified. Legal mumbo jumbo. We blindly sign on for perfect experience, but cruise line has right to change. I'm adding this comment on what you wrote. I haven't looked at your contract. So please don't blast me.
