Review summary

Went to Cozumel and Great stirrup Kay on the cruise. The ship is a smaller ship. However very crowded. Especially on sea days.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Port Canaveral was busy. Had to wait a little while after embarkation due to lengthy off load of band equipment from previous cruise

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food is about average at the buffet. The speciality Restaurants offer a little better quality of food.

The Pit Stop

3 out of 5

It’s on the opposite side of the Spinnaker lounge. The seats that overlook the pool are where the smokers were able to sit. The smoking wasn’t too bad. Had a decent view of the pool

Bliss Ultra Lounge

3 out of 5

Had different events each night. Some were good others maybe not so good. Took a while to get a drink. But find a bartender and tip him will speed the process

Grand Pacific

3 out of 5

First dinner on the ship. Took quite a while to get your food. The steak was rather small but cooked decently. Mainly because I had read reviews that stated go medium rare if you want a medium steak. So it’s just an average overall experience

O'Sheehan's Bar & Grill

4 out of 5

Decent burgers and Reuben sandwich. Only problem couldn’t really carry anything out.

Teppanyaki

4 out of 5

The food was typical hibachi style food. The chefs were excellent and kept you entertained throughout your meal. Try to get an early dinner. Which can be hard due to the size of the restaurant. Only seats 32

Le Bistro

4 out of 5

First time trying the French Restaurant. The lamb chops were delicious. And I had the poached pear dessert which was very good. The lengthy wait between courses is why it’s not a 5 star.

Cagney's Steakhouse

4 out of 5

Pretty good food. Took a while to get all of our courses. Did make the mistake of booking at 930. Wasn’t the smartest idea trying to digest a big steak before bed. More like I got my belly full and need a nap

The Great Outdoors

4 out of 5

One of my favorite places to eat breakfast. Little hard to get there, have to walk through the garden cafe to the back of the ship. Mornings had a small buffet with an omelette station. The bar opens at 10. Had ample seating either shaded or in the sun.

Alizar

4 out of 5

The typical cruise ship dining but no reservation was required. Just plan on taking two hours for dinner.

Java Café & Bar

3 out of 5

Luckily I booked the free at sea plus or the Starbucks drinks would have become very expensive. The coffee was average.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5

Private Sundeck

3 out of 5

Was ok when it was open.

Pool

1 out of 5

Pools are very small and way overcrowded. Hard to find a seat. One day had to close off the top section due to wind. Which I understand but loosing half the seats at a crowded pool all ready. Was terrible. Lines for all bars were extended. On some days they would set up a cooler with beer for purchase which helped out.

Entertainment

4 out of 5

Spinnaker Lounge

3 out of 5

Wasn’t nothing to write home about. Decent music. However the DJ would stop the music every 5 minutes to shout no drinks on the dance floor. Crowded on a few nights. Especially when they moved the glow party inside for some reason. The glow party was slated for outdoors. Some of the game shows were entertaining

Stardust Theater

4 out of 5

Saw the show elements. Which is a combination of acrobatics, dancing with a magic component. Enjoyed the show, leaving was very congested having most people walking threw the casino

The Card Room

3 out of 5

Decent place to get out of the wind and play a game of cards.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
The staff were overall very friendly. Could tell they were a little overworked. Need to add more bar tenders. Or add more waiters at most venues. Room steward took excellent care of us. Ravi at spinnakers did an excellent job trying to keep up with drinks.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
It’s a typical cruise cabin. Make sure to bring magnetic hooks for the walls. Room steward kept it clean everyday. Utilize the small amount of storage room the best you can

Ship tip

The free at see package they offer as a perk, make sure you read the fine print. They give you free WiFi for our cruise it was 75 minutes for the entire cruise. The beverage package doesn’t include Starbucks or bottled water. Only one special dining. We opted to buy the free at sea plus package which gave you WiFi for the entire trip plus bottled water and two more dinners.

Ports of call

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
Did the Fury excursion. Snorkeling was a little tight with all the people having to stay so tight together. Their private island was pretty fun with a good beach and slides in the water. Beer and alcohol was included however no food. Excursion was about four hours. Gave you time to explore the port after.

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

4 out of 5
Swam with the pigs. Pretty fun. The island beach is great and snorkeling was good. If you bought the beverage package everything is included.

Port Canaveral, Florida

3 out of 5
Had a little wait to board the ship. Other than that things went pretty quick.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Did self-disembarkment . Other than a decent walk was pretty easy. Lines moved pretty quick. We left around 9.
