Review summary

Unfortunately the whole thing was wash. Our ship broke down in our first port of Puerto Rico and we were flown back to Miami after 2 days of chaos waiting to disembark the ship. Very disappointing to say the very least.

It was not good. We awaited new our number being called to disembark and it didn’t happen. We were herded onto a bus and dumped off at a convention center to then wait again to be taken to the airport to Await a probable flight back to Miami. It was physically draining. There was very little information given to us by cruise members and the captain.

We were so pained for you all at such a ruined vacation. We’ve been following the Jades story. It could be any cruise & any cruise line. Don’t give up on cruising. Try again.

Damn....That sounds like an adventure we hope to never experience and not sure we would ever cruise with them again. We have heard they are offering excellent comps. Might be time to give another cruise line a shot.

The whole trip right from the time we arrived at our local airport to fly away to Miami unfortunately went sideways so forgive me if I rant a bit. Every detail from beginning to end didn’t go as planned. We will probably never have an experience like that again with any luck. There are just so many details around this trip that I I’d prefer not to think about. We were told to listen for an announcement on the intercom for our stateroom number to be called to disembark. We were only given about 30 min to be packed and leaving. Many weren’t even given that much Time. We awaited for almost 2 days and our number was never called as we along with a lot of others were very last to leave. We were told at that point that the airport was backlogged with flights and people so they were going to drop us at a convention centre. We were there for many hours. They fed us which was really nice. We disembarked at 4 pm from the ship to be dropped at the convention center at approximately 6 pm. We did not leave there till approximately 10 pm ...then bussed to the airport where we stood in line till 4 am ...waiting to board a flight. The head NCL guy was saying that they were trying to get a manifest of all the passengers through to the plane and so this appeared to be the hang up. We were quite exhausted and frustrated at this point. Got into Miami a couple hours later with only a couple hours to spare for us to squeeze into our hotel room we booked for some sleep before our next flight back home to Canada. The cruise line did all they could to keep us comfortable and I’m sure this kind of thing doesn’t happen often. This was our 30 th Anniversary holiday. We waited months for it to come around and anticipated great and wonderful things. My husband and I are not seasoned travelers so for this to happen to us...it kind of threw us for a loop. We smiled all through it the best we could though. The cruise line has said they will refund us completely and also compensate us with a free cruise up to the value of what we spent. We will see how it all goes.
