Review summary

We were really excited to sail on Norwegian. We have cruised many times on different ships and were quite disappointed. The ship was extremely crowded - worse than any ship I've ever been on. There was never room around the pool. Lounge areas were usually full. The game rooms were full. We had a hard time just finding a place to sit and talk or play games. So, sadly we spent a lot of time in our room. Additionally, one of our favorite parts of cruising is the food. The food was very low quality to the point that we could barely eat it by the end. I have never felt that way about any cruise before.

Also, we paid for a mini-suite and had 2 teenagers. The bed for them was a sofa bed. When pulled out it was big enough for 2 young children. Our teenager's feet hung off the end of the bed for 8 nights. I wasn't mentioned anywhere that the bed would be too small for teenage children.

The best part was our cabin steward was excellent. The shows on the ship were very well done. They were some of the best that I had ever seen.

Sadly, we most likely would never sail with them again!

Our cabin steward was excellent. The wait staff in the restaurants was very low quality. We could barely get them to acknowledge us enough to fill our glasses. The best staff was O'Sheehan's. They were wonderful and very attentive.

We paid for a mini suite and had 2 teenagers in our cabin. The bed for them was a sofa bed. When pulled it was only long enough for a small child. Our poor children slept for 8 night with their feet hanging off the beds very uncomfortably. It would have been nice if someone would have let us know that before.

Ship tip

O'Sheehan's was the best place to eat and the best service.

I must have frequented different areas of the ship at different times because we never had long lines at bars, loved everything about our cabin and our service in all restaurants was amazingly attentive. we never ate at the buffet Garden Cafe, so i can't opine about that. except i did find the ice cream machine! yum! the only crowd i saw was embarking and disembarking. and for the Elements show there was a line forming to get in, but when the doors opened it was quick jaunt to seats.

We just got off of the Jade 2 weeks ago and had a fantastic time!! We thought the food was great!! I guess some people are more high maintenance then others. We had a great time and our kids loved it!

ps: I am 61 years old and I have been cruising for the better part of 25 years. this is the first negative review. my wife and I still made the best of it.

my wife and I were on the jade last week and I can't begin to tell you how bad it was. our room was one of the ones not refurbished. broken toilet seat, two lights out in the room, phone never worked and wake ups were done by a knock on the door" 45" minutes late, sheets never changed, same water cups in the bathroom all we. food was good. wait staff in fine restaurants sucked. shows were great and we met some very nice couples and families. long lines at all bars. very very small smoking area. pool area was a ghost town at night because they picked up and tied all lounge chairs before 6pm most nights. other than that we had a great time. ð
