Review summary

It was a combination of disappointments and frustrations mixed with having a really fun time with my friends.

Embarkation

2 out of 5
We were directed to the wrong line; despite pointing out the error. They insisted we follow their direction. It caused embarcation to take over an hour.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Service was very slow in all restaurants on the first day, for all meals. After that, wait times and service normalized. The food in all the restaurants, complimentary and specialty was good, but not fantastic. The specialty restaurants are overpriced. It's not just an upcharge for them, but the cost is the same as fine dining in many land places.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Weather was horrendous the entire trip. other than the first day. Nothing was happening outside. All the events inside were mobbed. Public spaces on this ship are too small to accommodate a full ship, And this was a full ship, around 4,000 strong.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
No complaints. Great musicians and shows.

Children's Programs

no children

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Everyone worked really hard, It was a busy, busy, busy cruise. Despite this, there were mostly smiles all around.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
Ship's layout is horrible, starting with the atrium. Most of the activities occurred there and were really noisy, so it was very hard to conduct any business at guest services which is located there, too. The library is also there, so no quiet place to read. Well, no reading there anyway since they converted the library to a game room for cards or board games. All the public spaces are too small, holding maybe 30 people.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Clean and comfortable enough. Only complaint is that there is only about 8 inches between the bed and the closet. Really hard to not disturb your roommate,

Ship tip

Be patient. And get to activities really early in order to get a seat.

Ports of call

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
Completely disorganized. I have sailed on this ship a number of times before and have never encountered a situation like this. There were no announcements that the ship had cleared customs. Elevators were not available to the deck of disembarkation. So the hundreds of people who carry their own luggage off had to carry them either up or down the stairs. Lines were very slow and very long. It was as bad getting off as it had been getting on .
