Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Food was very bad overall with a couple of pleasant surprises. Le Bistro was horrible.

2 out of 5
Pool area way overcrowded. Hard to find chaise lounges in the sun.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
Comedian was not in the least funny.

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
Waiters and bar staff were bad. Room steward was good. Test of staff were fair.

3 out of 5
Decent

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
Expected a nicer suite for the cost. Somewhat disappointed.

Ship tip

Think about another line or ship.

Ports of call

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

5 out of 5
Very relaxing and fun

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

3 out of 5
Went to St John for the day. The tour was driving around the island in a big circle with 2-3 stops for pics and 1 stop to see one of the beaches.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

1 out of 5
Been there many times so just got off and walked around.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

5 out of 5
Nice day and the country side safari was very good and informative.

Disembarkation

I wouldn't compare a cruise today with staffing and supply issues t a precovid cruise. Even the same ship wouldn't match what it used to be like. Give it some time

6 cruise lines? Your profile says ZERO cruises.

I do agree about the deck chairs. The ships are finally sailing full and the lounge chairs are stacked and tied up in a random location like they are not needed. Entertainment is also lacking on ships.

we loved the getaway its probably our favorite ship so far we dont do the pool though spa was awesome we enjoyed the shows food and drinks was great, we had another cruise booked on it but covid hit so it was canceled

I totally agree about the pool deck of the Getaway. We did a 14 day transatlantic on it, and I think that except for the Ropes course and slides, it has the worse upper deck design of any ship we have been on... Carnival, RCL, or NCL. If you havent tried an Oasis class, try it!! You never have to worry about deck chairs in the sun or shade. Always plenty of options! 👍

Our experience last fall on Getaway was wonderful. We went this summer on another cruise line to the Bahamas and felt the ship was too crowded and food and drinks were sub par. I think the cruise industry is not staffed for summer crowds.

I wonder if Puerto Rico was one star ‘sucks’ or one star ‘been there, done that’? Doubt if the pool situation will get any better, the bigger the ship, the less pool availability there is since they can add rooms, but not pool space, newer ships seem worse. Think they should wait a year or two in hopes the Covid caused problems are solved before they go cruising again.

Oops sorry 😞 thanks

Thanks for the review. Cruising is not the same as it was prior to Covid on any cruise line. Maybe an all inclusive resort would be a better experience.
