I had visited most of these ports on a Carnival ship before and the Norweigen ship was a definite upgrade. Booking it through American Airlines gave me bonuses (unlimited drinks, 4 hours internet, 3 specialty meals, $50 credit on each tour booked and bonus miles) which were the deciding factors on booking this cruise.

Once at the terminal it was very easy to get onto boat. Traffic during Mardi Gras was terrible as most streets to the terminal were blocked off.

The specialty restaurants were fantastic, the only problem being the best were booked up for the whole cruise the second day. Make your choices as soon as you can.

There were a good variety available. Bingo was a little pricy ($40/3 games) but the casino was fun.

Plan oyur specialty meals in adavance, steckhouse and seafood booked up quick, Others were still great, not a bad experience anywhere
I had to use the Norweigen overflow parking when I arrived. Once off the ship no one ( I asked 8+ port employees where the shuttle was to the overflow parking and was given the wrong info each time. After 45 minutes at the curb another passenger told me I had to go across the street and around the corner for the bus. The bus driver was great and gave us a short cut out of the lot that avoided going back near the terminal.
