Review summary

This cruise was very nice. Did not like the port in Ocho Rios as it was more of a container port. Did not like that your drink and food package was not good on their private island cathedral sand at the beach was very course and hurt your feet. We went back on the ship after 1 1/2 hours and drank and ate there for free. People said the drinks were super expensive! I love Norwegian but was not crazy about the New Orleans port.

Harvest Caye is NOT owned by NCL, so that is why you could not use your drink package there, and why the food was not free. NCL had an agreement with the country of Belize allowing them to develop the island for their exclusive use, but Belize retained ownership, and all profits from food and drink were to go to the country of Belize to benefit their people and country. I’ve been there twice. The first time, we hung by the pool, and returned to ship to eat. On our second trip there, we were with our daughter and her family. They had a cabana, with waiter service. It was very nice. We had lunch and cocktails with them.
