Review summary

There were some real highlights on this cruise. But also some real lowlights. Highs: The ship is very nice and clean! Lots to do, and most staff are extremely helpful. I also loved almost all the ports we visited. Lows: I had a huge problem with my room with constant water whooshing sounds. I was trying not to be a complainer, but I finally couldn't stand it after day 3, so I talked to guest services. They first denied anything. Then, told me that others had complained about the same issue. It took them until day 8 to move me, and then offered no compensation for an entire week of no sleep.

Embarkation

Embarkation was a bit of a mess. Once you got through security in NOLA, everyone but Haven is in a giant room. Once they started calling Platinum, everyone rushed to board and they agents didn't check to make sure people actually had the boarding groups they were boarding with.

Food and Dining

Food left a lot to be desired, and I really wanted to like it. Consistently, food in Taste and Savor was lukewarm/cold when served. Tropicana room was better. Specialty restaurants were good, but not great. To be honest, that's the quality of food I'd expect for the main dining rooms, and something extra special to pay more for it.

Onboard Activities

I thought they did a good job of having activities for everyone. I didn't really participate in a lot, but days were packed full.

Entertainment

Saw Burn the Floor and the magician. Both were quite good. I went to Escape the Big Top, and while it's a cute idea, their organization left a lot to be desired. It was very haphazard, and the heat kept laughing at everyone.

Service and Staff

Most of the staff provided exceptional service - particularly the bartenders in the Vibe. However, I had an issue with my room and the guest services staff was less than helpful and almost insulting. Also, dining service was extremely slow. Nearly every meal was 2+ hours.

Cabin / Stateroom

If you are a light sleeper or bothered by noise, DO NOT BOOK THIS CABIN. It is attached to a main plumbing juncture for the ship, so every 2-3 minutes 24 hours a day, you will hear a water whooshing sound. Kind of like a washing machine or pool water splashing. It is loud and obtrusive. They are aware of this issue, but they continue to book the room. Additionally, one of the closet doors was broken and hard to work right. Bed was very hard.
