We had a decent time but would think twice about sailing on NCL
Embarkation

Very disorganized. When we booked the cruise we selected a check in time, but arriving at the terminal we were given a boarding pass. We had to sit why past out original time of check in until our boarding pass was called.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Overall the food was just fair. We tried the Taste restaurant one night which was a bad decision. We were a party of eight and half the party had to send their food back as it was cold and no flavor.
We did eat a steak at Cagney’s Steak House which was good. Of course everything on the menu was a la carte. If I ever sail on NCL again not sure if I will pay extra for these types of restaurants.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
Not enough activities during the daytime when you are in port.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
We saw two shows while on board, Burn the Floor and Million Dollar Quartet. Both shows were excellent. Some of the others singers were just average.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Unlike other cruise ships I have sailed, we did not meet or see our cabin steward until the last night on board.
It should be noted that our first night on board their was a roach in our cabin.
Ship Quality

My wife and I thought there was a lot of room in the casino area. You did not feel like you were jammed in.
It took a while to learn the ship.
Cabin / Stateroom

We had a balcony and the room was very small. As stated before on our first night we had a roach crawling on the counter top.
Never met our room steward until the last night.
I understand that the television channels are few while sailing but should include and ESPN channel. One sports channel that showed soccer matches which is fine if you like soccer. I don’t.
We are from New Orleans and their are plenty of activities and great restaurants in the area. The only knock on the city is they need to invest more money in the terminals for the various cruise ships.
It was great. I have taken many of cruises and always dread disembarkation trying to locate your luggage but no problem on this cruise. Both of our suitcases were side by side. Never seen that happen before. The other folks in our group also found their luggage side by side.
The only blemish in this category is not on NCL but the city of New Orleans. There is no parking garage for NCL passengers, you had to park in an open lot and walk blocks to reach the terminal. The city should invest in a parking garage for each cruise line

We called guest service and reported the incident. As of today still waiting on a response. No one called or even came to the room. I agree this was an isolated incident and was probably brought in by the passengers before us.
Just out of curiosity, did you raise any of your issues with customer service on the ship? I'm not really a complainer, but having a roach in the cabin indicates that it was probably brought on board via the passengers before you. I do know that all cruise lines are concerned about critters such as that and I very rarely see even flying insects on a ship.
