Never paid for a drink with the adult liquor package (base brands included Tito's, J.Walker, Tangueray and many others). Internet was bad in the room (download 1MB per minute). Less than half were Americans on board. Older crowd.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Very quick considering the size of the crowd.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Buffet was very crowded, we often struggled to find an open table. Non-premium (no addtional cost)) restaurants were good. Loved the no reservation requirements.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
Not many activities on board that interested us. Same old art auctions, silly games etc. It was too cold to sunbathe or swim. No ice rink, no golf simulator, no bowling, one pool table, two ping pong tables I think.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
Disapointed that there were no comedy shows. Also, we did not have much music to choose from in the lounges. We did not attend any premium($$) entertainment shows.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
All of the staff were very friendly.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Ship was 5 years old so in good condition. Noticed a couple areas that cleaning staff overlooked.
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
Clean room. One exception: we often had a swamp water smell emanating from the restroom (that we did not cause). We did not tell our steward. Unlike othe cruises, we never had the towels formed into birds on our bed, or chocolates left on our pillows. We didn't really care.
Took two tours: Spilled Blood Cathedral and Waterwys, and Through the Eyes of the Russian People. Both very enjoyable. Not enough time to see all the things we wanted to see.
Our booked excursion was cancelled, so we rebooked onto the Stockholm & Viking tour. Viking museum was OK. The port area and the city of Stockholm were beautiful.
Good review. They do actually have bowling onboard. Also, they will only make towel animals now upon request. It saves having to do a lot of laundry each day. As for the nationality of the passengers, it’s a European cruise. You should expect a lot of non-Americans.
