Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Dining on Norwegian is always great, you can get a table for two anytime.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Need more treadmills! It was too windy to do the rock climbing or ropes course but did on sister ship on previous cruise and they are both lots of fun...

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Tried to get in on two shows(magic show) but I guess you have to get there at least 15 or 20 minutes before show time. No comedy show this time...

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Dining staff and room steward always great.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
All clean and well designed.

Cabin / Stateroom

Do not book interior room10449 if you like to sleep before 11 PM and sometimes 12AM: It is somehow connected to the Getaway Theater with sound. Very loud music... We cruise once or twice a year, for the last 12 years, and this has never happened... Guest service said they called the producer to have them lower the volume, then another day they offered to have us sleep in another room on another floor, I don't think that was a great solution to our problem... and they did not follow up. I really think that being able to sleep is important... Clean.

Ship tip

Do not book room 10449 if you like to sleep!

Ports of call

Copenhagen, Denmark

We spent a few days before and after, great city. Very walkable with lots to do...

Warnemunde (Berlin), Germany

Nice small beach town. Do not take shore excursion to Rostock: Rostock by tram and river. The tram was very ordinary, the city tour very short and the boat ride very uninteresting due to it being all industrial.

Gdynia (Gdansk), Poland

Excursion to Gdansk amazing. Tour guide Irena, was the best. Older lady, new a lot of interesting facts and did not stop giving great info.

Helsinki, Finland

Hop on hop off. Great. Would do it again. Well organized.

St. Petersburg, Russian Federation

Night at the Hermitage is a must. Great guide Eugenia. She made everything story interesting and pretty to look at. No crowds. Only our group in each room. Like a private tour. Cathedrals tour. Beautiful. Guide not as experienced. Watch for pick pockets. We saw them at Spilled Blood Cathedrale watching for easy preys.

Nynashamn (Stockholm), Sweden

Hop on and hop off not as great as in Finland. We were one hour drive away from Stockholm. Other ships, like Royal Caribbean were docked in the city... We lost two hours that day in a bus... Got there around 9am and Hop on Off buses and boats start only after 10. The boat tour was nice. It was raining so we stayed on the boat for two tours!

It is really important to know the layouts of the various decks, especially in relation to the cabin you’re booking. Every single ship has some areas with cabins that are less desirable. I like to keep at least one deck between myself and something potentially loud, such as the theater/night club/ kids’ clubs, pool deck, etc. Remember that some venues, such as the theater, may take up several decks. I’ve heard horror stories from people on several different ships and cruise lines that booked cabins in bad locations and could not sleep much of the night. This is the reason I never book a “guaranteed” stateroom and never bid on cabin upgrades. I like controlling my cabin assignment, even if it costs a little more. You can’t put a price on sleep.
