Review summary

Great to see several countries to help you decide which ones you want to visit again for more thorough exploration.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
No long lines, and all went smooth.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Buffets were okay, and the main dining rooms were good, but they need more and better meal planning. Too much of the same foods were served.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Drinking.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The entertainment was very good. The Burn the Floor group was awesome, and the rock bands were great. The magician was pretty lame.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
The staff on the Gem were more energetic and personable.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
No problems here.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Cabin was much smaller than the same type cabin on the Gem.

Ship tip

Get to embarkation early, and disembark late. This will asure that you skip the lines.

Awesome city. Want to see more.

You can’t compare cabin classes on completely different classes of ships. The Gem and Getaway are totally different. A “mini suite” on the Gem is spacious. A “mini suite” on the Getaway is much smaller.
