Worst I've ever been on. Norwegian should be ashamed. They shortened cruise by 2 nights and dropped 2 of 4 ports of call one week ahead of cruise. Compensation was minimal. I don't plan to sail Norwegian again. They've offered a 25% future cruise credit. I don't plan to use it because I don't trust them
Embarkation

Not bad. It just got worse from there.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Food generally good in dining rooms. However it was inconsistent. Sometimes hot; sometimes cold. Sometimes timely; sometimes slow. Sometimes correct; sometimes wrong. Buffet was boring; not much variation. Lines were long in both venues. Specialty restaurants were excellent in service , presentation, & quality. One exception. Cagney's usually has excellent meat. My wife's prime rib was overcooked and bland. My ribeye had about 40% waste. I think Norwegian is overchasing $s. Specialty restaurants had additional upcharges for shrimp cocktails, lobster, and such. Ocean Blue already has a $12 per person upcharge in addition to other charges included. Sort of leaves a bad taste.
Onboard Activities

Too cold to do anything outside. Was told gym and spas were crowded and not in good shape.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Reservation system just assured more time in line. Not enough space in theater for 4000 passenger ship. Million $ Quartet--5 star. Better than touring broadway show we saw. One of best we've ever seen on a ship. Burn the Floor--above average. A'capella group was just ok. Men's trio was good but couldn't find a comfortable venue to listen to them. Other shows conflicted or too late.

Service and Staff

Spotty! Room steward was worst we've ever had. We've always given room stewards extra tips because they were so good. Waiters were inconsistent. Some were very good; others not. Other ship personnel generally looked away from you unless directly addressed. All the customer service desk were overloaded except future cruise desk. I think a lot of staff didn't want to be there. I don't much blame them since there were 4000 unhappy passengers.
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
Layout: Terrible--felt like we were being pushed into a Japanese train all the time. Terrible traffic flow. Common areas were not clean and well maintained.
Cabin / Stateroom

SHABBY! Size was fine. Carpets were stretched, stained, pilled, & dirty. Bathroom smelled like urine. Water was left in ice bucket from previous passengers for 5 days. Couch upholstery was stretched, dirty, cushion was misshapened. Mattresses were like dugouts. Worst cabin attendant we've ever had.
Not impressed with port. Transfer to Heathrow was handled well. Please note: Ship actually went to LaHavre and Zeebrugge. Both were excellent ports. We went on excursions to Honfleur and Ghent. Thank goodness we got to go to these ports.
AWFUL. Everyone tried to get off at same time and Norwegian didn't manage it. At least 1000 passengers disembarked before any colors were called. We were in first group because of airport transfer. Were not called until 1 hour after scheduled time and waited another hour to get off.
Not sure that JT understands the issues.... We’re Platinum Plus with NCL and have done lots of cruises (8-10 per year)... This Getaway Transatlantic was the worse ever for all sorts of reasons, mainly shambolic planning... The review is pretty fair from our experience on the ship on this particular trip apart from the bit about the Entertainment which we thought was very poor, we’ve endured Million Dollar Quartet and Burn the Floor countless times before, both shows should have long since been retired and replaced with something more updated musically...
