Had a bad experience with Margaritaville. Had to wait 2hrs for a burger and a beer. Not happy. Way to many children ,1700 in all on a NEW YEAR'S EVE cruise. Not cool. But on a happy note....... The Ice Bar was great, Million Dollar Quartet was amazing , what talent there was there , Burn the Floor dancers awesome and the comedian Dylan also hilarious. If I had to rate our experience it would be 50/50. I would not go Western Caribbean in January again. I love the sun and enjoy spending hot days laying out on the deck. We did have some fun and when we did we did a lot of laughing
Embarkation
4 out of 5
The embarkment process was fine. No issuses there
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The main dining was very confusing . Thank goodness for Deepa , the reservation hostess. She was absolutely the best ! She was able to get a time that worked for us.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
Not many. The pools were too crowded with little children, to windy to play mini golf, rainy and windy to lay out, not much going on on board
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The entertainment that we saw was good. We choose not to see some of the entertainment because we had to pay extra for it. It should be included. We are paying enough to be on the ship and when it says ADULTS ONLY it should be just that.
Children's Programs
I went on a NEW YEAR'S eve cruise to celebrate with adults not little children that were not even old enough to be in a bar. Way to many children. I'm not against children as I have some of my own ,but if I knew there were going to be so many I would not have booked this cruise. I don't want to party with children. Should not be allowed.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Deepa , the restaurant hostess and her boss Mariliza ( assistant Maitre 'D from South Africa ) were the absolute best. They made our whole trip. Our room attendent Amilen ( young man , tall thin, very nice) was also excellent.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
The cleanliness of the ship was great but the layout was very confusing. I never knew where I was on the ship or how to go from 1 point to another. Usually I can figure it out after being on the ship for 1 day
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The cabin was great and so was our room attendent. We didn't spend much time on the balcony as we like to be busy and out and about.
Ship tip
Don't go on a Western Carribbean cruise in January. It was very windy and rainy for most of the cruise.
The best part of this was taking an excursion to the French Key beach where from there we took a little boat ride and got to see Bengal Tigers ( AWESOME ) and have Monkey La La's to drink
The best day of all!!!!!!! We went on the Dune Buggy excursion . What a blast and boy did we get DIRTY. Absolutely so much fun. Highly recommend this : )
Frogboo95—Yes, it does sound strange. I’ve sailed this ship twice, and there was never more than a handful of people in Margaritaville EVER. It was NOT a popular spot, as it was an extra charge place, and there were so many better complimentary areas onboard, such as O’Sheehans, and also probably the BIGGEST and BEST buffet we’ve ever had at sea. All we ever saw anyone get at Margaritaville is cocktails. Something sounds mighty strange with what the OP stated.
