Review summary

We've sailed with Norwegian in the past and have signed up for another cruise with them. The only real complaint this time was the boarding process. We were given a pass for Boarding 1. When they opened the gate for boarding, they let EVERYONE in at the same time, no matter what number you were given. SO disorganized! This is out of the norm, so we are taking a chance on another cruise. The only other complaint was the lack of good food this time. If we didn't eat in the specialized restaurants, the food was just "so so" which was disappointing.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

We had the drink package which was a great option. As a rule, we try to avoid the buffets, and instead, eat in the dining rooms. Service was very slow in the dining rooms this time.

Service and Staff

Our room steward was very good. The bartenders were excellent. Table service was poor. The food was good, just took a long time to get it.

Cabin / Stateroom

The room was fine but the balcony was smaller than normal. We usually don't mind paying more for a balcony room, but the balcony is usually bigger.

Ship tip

Embark on your own; carry your own luggage off the boat and you are first to leave! Very organized.

Just a note about boarding process. The wrangling of passengers and how the process is carried out is primarily under the control of the local port authority employees. That is why cruising with the same company the process is not the same at every port. Some ports are run in a smoother more organized fashion than others. I have experienced what you have described and I have experienced very smooth organized boarding with NCL. Just depends on the port you are sailing out of.
