Review summary
Sixth time on the Getaway, it's like home away from home. My wife and I had a fabulous time. The cruise is as good as what you make it out to be. There were not as many kids on the ship this time due to the school year start so it was heavenly, although we never had a problem with the kids being on the ship at the same time as we are, but it does make for a bit less of a crowd. The ship is kept clean and the dining was great, we ate in the Tropicana every night accept the 2 nights we had Cagney's and La Cocina which were wonderful. The Tropicana is a dine and dance venue so bring your dance shoes. The Latin band there is excellent, they play to the crowd not just Latin. There is music everywhere for everyone from ballroom, latin and Caribbean to current day hits spun by the DJ in H2o. There are game shows galore if that is your thing as well. The service around the ship from cabin steward to restaurant servicer and bar staff was more than adequate, and they do it everyday with a very friendly smile. I cruise between Royal Caribbean and NCL and I find that the friendliest crew is on NCL. My wife and I are always running into happy and smiling staff that are more than happy to stop and take a minute to chat about anything. The ship does a western Caribbean route that is my favorite, so if you are thinking of giving this ship a try I would definitely recommend this ship or any other ship on this cruise line.Embarkation
