Review summary

Save your money, this is really now for people who want to party. Only one tiny pool, no shade in adult area. The food was good, but No Lobster in the free restaurants!! Hardly any Shrimp and fish was not good. The escargot was Horrible, The buffet was good, but repetitive. If this is not a problem book on this line. I'm done! Princess and HAL much better.

No Lobster in the free restaurants!! They told me to go to a pay restaurant... Hardly any Shrimp and fish was not good. The escargot was Horrible, it was stewed with many mushrooms. The buffet was good, but repetitive.

2 shows in their main theater, again another 2 shows BUT with dinner and you need to PAY!! This cruise line has become a cash grab! I have not been on in years, never again.

the only real adult area is deck 16 aft, H2O only has 6 umbrellas for 300 chairs! get there by 7:30 to get one or you will roast!! there is no shade! The only pool on the ship is tiny!! Very noisy, so good luck try to swim or rest.

I Love this ship, six time cruiser on this ship alone and will be back on in 10 days, sept 9th 2018. I do agree with the Poster, EricMiller, The pools and public areas are too crowded. I wish they could have done something with the design. But there are many other places for a fee that you can retreat to, which is what my wife and I do. The lines he mentioned are for an older crowd so he is use to a different atmosphere. I hope he did just focus on the negative and lose a cruise, now that would be foolish. This is a ship that is lively and fun there are game shows, dancing everywhere, and Bway type shows. People it's your week so get it right, leave the negative in the parking lot and go have fun.

NCL has the older style cruise ships. The star, dawn, spirit that i definitely wouldn't cruise.

My dh and I aren't "party people" and never felt this way about GA. It's definitely like the BA but we found it very family oriented. Food was excellent and we ate seafood at each meal. There are 2 pools and H2O, which is adults only and has a waterfall to cool off. Loved the GA and NCL. Just sailed on the GA this past July.

Eric, I'll have to assume you're of an older generation of cruisers. Most of what you described is the current state of cruise ships, at least as far as NCL is concerned. You could've found out about a lot of those things had you done your research before booking the cruise.

I have been in the Get away and going again in 10’days. I believe there are more than one pool and the food was excellent and for sure not a party ship. The shows are really good. I love Norwegian

I'm scheduled to cruise Getaway in 2020. I've done a few NCL cruises so I'm accustomed to their freestyle. I'm hoping Getaway is similar to Breakaway. I really liked that ship. Although, at times, I did have to rudely insist that the party folks respect the library code. There are a billion places on the ship for party people to party and for whatever reason they always seem to want to gravitate to the one quiet place and start making noise.

Need to stay in the Haven. You will not have that problem. I love the Getaway.

The specialty dining package is included as a perk option in your fare. You could have eaten at a specialty restaurant for free if you chose that option.

Wow.. I agree NCL and the Getaway wasnt my cup of tea either. The food I thought was really good, and likely the best buffet Ive had at sea! One night they had a seafood buffet that was incredible with 5 types of shrimp, and huge peel and eat cold shrimp cocktail!!
