After cruising over 7 cruises in the last 5 years this was by far the WORST EXPERINCE EVER !! If I could give this a zero stars I would.

Review summary

I would NOT recommend the Getaway or Norwegian. I have cruised on Carnival, Royal Caribbean and they are superior by far as food, entertainment and not to mention the pools and music are much more relaxing....sad to write this review but don't spend your hard earned money like I did

Looked overworked and never smiled, even when I was booking a $300.00 excursion, good thing it was cancelled due to weather, glad I did not fund this cruise with my hard earned money.

Cabin was descent, bed bugs!!! All 3 families we booked it with on 3 various cabins at different levels all left with bug bites. Sometimes we had to ask to have our cabin cleaned as they would skip to every other day, left dirty towels on the floor and never replaced them.

It's almost like this person left a review SPECIFICALLY to try to sway people's decisions in cruising. I've cruised on both ncl and carnival, and while carnival wasn't the worst thing in the world it definitely held no candle to ncl. In my opinion it's simply the best money you can spend.

I was on the Getaway six times over the last two years. We will be on it in 20 days from this writing. NEVER HAD A PROBLEM that could not be solved. It is what YOU make of the cruise, one negative situation can destroy the whole cruise for you if you let it. WHENEVER I had a problem I immediately put it on paper to the proper authority, then move on, believe me It does not matter what line you are on, they take steps to correct the issue so you can get back to enjoying your stay on their ship. They will send your an apology and some type of favor to your cabin, at the least someone makes contact with you, but to sit and focus on every little thing makes no good sense. Why throw your cruise away. My wife and I were on a new Carnival ship, we did didn't like it, we found many faults, but we made the best of everyday, we smiled, we talked to new people everyday, but were running for the door upon return to Miami. Would I do Carnival again, probably not even free, but I sure wasn't going to waste my days there wallowing in despair.

We have cruised the Getaway and it started our love for Norwegian Cruiseline. It is our favorite. We have cruised Royal, Carnival and Princess and keep going back to Norwegian. Have always had a great experience and excellent food. Sorry your experience was not good.

I was on the Getaway a few years ago and can only say that it was a very enjoyable cruise. The food was good and the ship itself was beautiful. Cruising is NOT for everyone.

I've done rccl which I have no complaints but I've only sailed with them once, carnival I've sailed with more times then I can count but the last time wasnt a pleasant experience for us so we are trying Norwegian. Buffet food is buffet food nothing superior nothing that's going to kill you. There's always other options it's vacation enjoy it. Sorry you had a horrible time.

I have been on ncl 7 times aswell and cant fault them i suppose it is all down to personal choice the food the staff entertainment and cleanliness were all spot on so sorry to hear that your cruise wasn't enjoyable i hope it hasn't put you off cruising ⚓⚓⚓

I've sailed 7 times on NCL, once on RCCL and also once on Carnival and I never had to write a bad review about Norwegian! Sad that it went wrong for you...

I was on the Getaway for 14 day Transatlantic, and the buffet was the best Ive seen yet on ANY cruise ship!! Im not a bug fan of the Getaway or NCL as a whole either, but I find it vwry hard to believe that the buffet was the same every night? Yes, the 3 MDRs were piss-poor, slow, and boring food... but Osheehans, and the Asian noodle bar, as well as the buffet were awesome!!

Sorry you did not like the Getaway, I loved the Getaway. The food was phenomenal and service was excellent. I on the other hand would never waste my time and money on a Carnival Cruise. I do enjoy RC (but their food is terrible). It’s amazing how different our experiences have been. I love cruising and will be on the Royal Princess in November.
