Review summary

Embarkation in Miami left much to be desired. They give appointments like ours was 9 am. They didn't even open until around 10:30. The building was packed to the hilt when they finally began boarding around 12:20. Was not a good 1st impression to say the least Disembarkation was a breeze though when we returned. We were off the ship and through immigration literally in minutes. We took our own bags and that made it easy. If you check them I suspect it will be much longer

Like the ship very over crowded. Hard to get lounge chairs. Little to no shade and everything was way overpriced

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

4 out of 5
We liked it. The snorkel trip was fun although the reef was in pretty bad shape

Cozumel, Mexico

Dis the submarine and stingray beach. Probably the highlight of the trip

Interesting. I've heard people say they were provided boarding times but I have yet to receive this from NCL for the two cruises that I sailed on. Had no problems embarking and was eating lunch at 12:30 in the dining room.

Yes in deed the worst part about a cruise is getting on and off the boat it seems to take forever but well worth it I’ve been on several cruises and all the waiting and chaos is worth it I love cruising if you don’t like to wait get on later and you will normally walk right on or you have a better chance of just walking right on anyway

You just never know.

No idea what made you think you’d board at 9am... You must have selected that as your arrival time... Folks don’t get off the ship until about 10am, the crew then clear the ship and get it ready for the new guests. Priority boarding starts usually between 11 & 11.30, general boarding around 12noon.... You’d obviously been given incorrect information if someone told you 9am was a boarding time...

The ship usually has no control over times it starts boarding and deboarding. This is regulated by the border patrol. The ship has to be checked. Also, while at sea, the roster of guest names is run and if something pops up they will escort this/these guests off first. This can of course hold things up as well.
