Review summary

We had a great time, but a ship of this size needed another elevator bank as well as self-service laundry.

Food and Dining

The Manhattan Room Restaurant

5 out of 5

Tropicana Room on the Getaway was very nice on our first night at sea. We tried it again on nights 6 and 7 and although the food was delicious, it did not compare with night 1. Live music and dancing were a plus that garnered the 5 star review.

Taste Restaurant

we had breakfast here one morning and the service was not great. we waited a long time for the server and then a long time for the food.

O'Sheehan's Neighborhood Bar and Grille

4 out of 5

loved the vibe here. burgers, wings, typical pub food.

Ocean Blue by Geoffrey Zakarian

5 out of 5

Ocean Blue was lovely, even with the upcharge, the food was delicious and service was great.

Garden Café

3 out of 5

Regular cruise ship buffet; breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night snacks available. No big deal.

Cagney's Steakhouse

5 out of 5

food was great, it was included in our dining package.

Onboard Activities

Getaway Casino

3 out of 5

It was too smoky and spread out in a strange way.

Aqua Park

4 out of 5

I went down the purple and orange slides; first time in my life doing a water slide and it was awesome. I never got to do the free fall because the weather was not conducive to water activities.

Shore Excursion Desk

4 out of 5

Staff was helpful and knowledgable.

Photo Gallery

3 out of 5

I liked the idea with the way photos are organized in a binder. no need to scramble through walls and walls of photos to find your pics.

Mini Golf

3 out of 5

too crowded and too many families trying to play mini golf at the same time.

Pulse Fitness Center

4 out of 5

run of the mill fitness center on a cruise ship; cardio area and weights area. I did not see any showers in the fitness center as they have on Carnival ships.

Entertainment

5 out of 5

Headliners Comedy Club

4 out of 5

Went to the adults show. Frank Townsend was funny, awesome and one very cool guy when you'd meet up with him on the ship.

Getaway Theater

4 out of 5

Played Bingo and saw Burn the Floor and Million Dollar Quartet there and it was very nice. The seats could be a little more comfy and there should be tables for drinks.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

This was our embarkation and disembarkation ports and unfortunately, it was rainy and gray both days so our excursions were cancelled. We were unable to enjoy Miami because of the weather.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

We visited Maya Key, which was a very short boat ride from the ship. The beach was okay (I've been to much nicer beaches in the Caribbean), the food also was okay. We spent time both on the beach and then i the pool before heading back to the ship. We had great weather though.

Harvest Caye, Belize

5 out of 5
Harvest Caye was beautiful. We had great weather, the pool was awesome and the beach was lovely. We rented pedal boats on the lagoon, but this turned out to be too much for me due to physical limitations. This is NCL's private island and I felt the drinks package should have applied at Harvest Caye. We paid for our drinks which were pricey.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

3 out of 5
We got off the ship and just purchased a few trinkets at Costa Maya as none of the excursions were to our liking or abilities. There was a small rocky beach at the port for lounging, but not swimming. There was also a pool in the middle of the shopping plaza which we did not use, it was much too crowded as there was another large ship in port.

Cozumel, Mexico

2 out of 5
I had been to Cozumel before (2016 on a Carnival ship) and was very disappointed and somewhat confused because this definitely was not the same Cozumel port. This port seemed seedier, with a lot of locals panhandling. We walked to the shops (which was a challenge with a wheelchair) and subsequently had lunch at Senor Frogs. It began to rain and we scrambled to get back to the ship. We sailed out of Cozumel right on time, but due to Tropical depression Alberto, the Captain announced that he was going to bring us in to Miami earlier than planned. He must've put the "pedal to the metal" because we were docked in Miami on Saturday night at 9:45 instead of 8:00 a.m. on Sunday.

Why would you want to do laundry on vacation?
