Review summary

We had a great time! We enjoyed the ports, food, activities, staff and of course the sunshine. We are torn about our next cruise as we would like to see different ports but also want to sail on the Getaway again!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
This was our first cruise so we didn’t know what to expect. There were lines but they moved very quickly. Staff and signage made it easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Service was wonderful everywhere we ate and so was the food. Plenty of options for everyone and waits were never long. Make reservations day one for specialty dining though. Later in the week it was fully booked up.

Best dining experience we had in the ship! Food was incredible. Chef was even better!! Highly recommend.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Pools were a bit small and crowded but we were happy to lay on the sun deck with drinks. Kids loved the ropes course and basketball court.

Entertainment

Highly recommend Headliners. Again, make reservations as soon as you board. There are stand-by lines, but it’s chancy to get in that way.

Children's Programs

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We had excellent service. Staff was friendly and very effienct. Tables were cleaned quickly in the Garden Cafe to make sure there was always a clean place to sit down. Staff hustled all the time. Great service in Savor (main dining room). Shout out to Arun, best waiter ever!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Although after 7 days I would still get turned around on the inside, there were signs and staff around all the time to help you out. Everything was always clean, even the bathrooms on the pool deck.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin was great. We knew it would be small, but there was plenty of storage with the closet, shelves, drawers under the couch and room under the bed for suitcases. Bathroom and shower were plenty big and clean. The balcony was small but awesome. Coffee in the morning watching the ship pull into different ports was the best.

Ship tip

We loved being on deck 13 toward the aft. We could quickly get to the stairs and go up two decks to grab coffee in the morning or a snack at night. It was quiet with no public venues above or below us.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida Did not visit port

Flew in right before boarding and left right after return.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

Loved this port. Beautiful landscape and water. Highly recommend Daniel Johnson’s Monkey and Sloth area. Also the beach on the west end is just beautiful.

Harvest Caye, Belize

Great beach, awesome pool. Plenty of beach chairs for everyone. Food was a little pricey at Landshark but we expected that.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

We did a private beach resort and the ocean and drinks were awesome. But the merchants were relentless.

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
It rained our day in port unfortunately. And again, the merchants at the port stores were a bit obnoxious. Due to issues in Mexico, couldn’t go to the mainland either. Shore excursions there were cancelled. Had a great time at Senior Frogs!

Disembarkation

There was a long line, but again to be expected. Almost 4,000 people to leave in a short period of time. Lines kept moving, staff was helpful and friendly. A couple even sang to entertain us. Lol
