Review summary

BUY TRAVEL INSURANCE! My aunt had a heart attack while on board. We discovered there was a outstanding medical bill for $17,000.00 from ships medical. that is not covered by her Medicare. Port agents never followed up to make our hotel reservations.

Room was always kept clean. However, it was impossible to contact staff via phone. We attempted multiple times to contact guest devices and our cabin steward with no success. We did have a medical emergency while on board, which resulted in a coast guard medical disembarkation. Sarah, at guests services was great in communicating with us. However, the port agent who was supposed to make our hotel reservations never contacted us after we we informed he would be. Medical staff was great! Purchased a WiFi package. NCL neglects to inform guests that WiFi does not work while ship is in port and they restrict content.

Layout was ok. Bathrooms next to pools smelled like urine.

Cabin / Stateroom

The cabin was small in comparison to other balcony staterooms on previous ships. Steward did a great job of keep clean but never replenished Ice bucket.

Ship tip

We personally will not be sailing with NCL. Not a fan of free style sailing at all. We prefer the timed seating and formal nights. It was very hard to schedule/reschedule dinner reservations.

We booked a land and sea excursion through RT&T. They were great and highly recommended. We did not book any of our excursions through NCL. Our travel agent booked them at a much lower cost.

We booked our excursion through Native Choice. We visited the Chacchoben Myan Ruins. They were great and highly recommended. We did not book any of our excursions through NCL. Our travel agent booked them at a much lower cost.

Disembarkation

Locating our luggage after disembarking the ship was a challenge. You had to go into a area that looked like a warehouse and had to walk up and down rows of luggage until you find your luggage. Other cruise lines have a better setup in regards to this.

Wow... So sorry to hear about your aunt. I hope she is doing much better with a full recovery. Ships medical is rediculous!
