Norwegian is our third favorite cruise line behind Celebrity and Royal. Had a great time and this was a fun and relatively new ship. Food would've been better if served hot instead of luke warm but a good selection is offered.
Alcohol is getting very expensive on board and they have a lot of specialty restaurants now that are not free. I hate to see cruise lines going this route because now you have OK food in the dining rooms which is included with your cruise but the better food costs you.
Also for the first time I see them charging for a broadway show where those were always included in your fare as well.

Food and Dining

I love the freestyle on Norwegian, eat when you want and dress comfortably. Unfortunately most meals in dining room were served luke warm. Also, if you try to divert from the menu like ordering a different vegetable you will be disappointed as well. The staff is very friendly and they say no problem but when you get your dish its exactly as advertised without your request or changes

Cabin / Stateroom

We got the mini suite this time and the room was much larger with a big balcony that help to chairs and a table. Also had two chaise lounges as well.
Ship tip
The buffet for breakfast is best as dining room has limited selections.
This is the cruise lines private island and it was very nice!! Very clean lots of beach chairs and umbrellas, zip line and kayak rentals.
Drinks are expensive on the island just like the ship.
Excellent port and since we've been here several times we decided to hang out downtown, did our shopping and eating and drinking. Senor Frog's always a good place to hang out and a good bang for your buck shopping here.
The Getaway was our first NCL cruise, after 6 cruises on Carnival... I noticed the same thing with the constant "upsell" push. Dining, entertainment, raffles, bingo, pricey small drinks, aggressive shops sales clerks, and on and on... most every event or show they were trying to sell something... we joked that the Cruise Director, was actually the Sales Manager... lol
We still had fun on the 14 days on the Getaway... but there were sooooo many missed opportunities where it could have been a MUCH more fun ship!!
