Review summary

The logistics of the shore excursions needs some work. Many times we felt like sardines in a can because they told the people for 5 to 8 busses to leave the meeting at the same time. Going down the stairs for three or four flights packed tightly should have been remedied. One to two busses at a time to disembark is plenty. Also in Stockholm, we took the tour, Stockholm by land and sea. When we got to the riverboat, they should have had two boats. They packed two busses worth of people on to one tour boat. Many people could not take pictures and had to stand. They also said their would be bathrooms, which most needed after 2 1/2 hours of waiting and riding a bus. When we got on the tour boat, there was one bathroom for over 100 people. Very poor organization fora pricey tour.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Went smoothly with no hitches.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was acceptable, nothing outstanding.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Most of these are directed to gamers, and gambling, neither of which we do.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The two complimentary shows that we saw, were quite good. We did not attend any of the optional shows.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Staff was attentive and friendly.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Basic design of all Norwegian ships. This particular ship, Getaway, does need some updating.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Good location, not too much noise, cleaned nicely by staff. Size comparable to other ships.

Ship tip

Long lines most of the time at customer service. Always friendly staff, however.

Ports of call

Copenhagen, Denmark

4 out of 5
We spend some additional time in Copenhagen, exploring mostly on our own. Interesting, compact city.

Warnemunde (Berlin), Germany

4 out of 5
We took and excursion in both Warnemunde and Rostock. Nice little seaside towns. Much closer than the alternative of Berlin--with 3 hour train trips each way and about 2-3 hours actually in the city.

Tallinn, Estonia

3 out of 5
Interesting facts about Estonia were included in the tour. Clean small port.

St. Petersburg, Russian Federation

4 out of 5
Tour guides were terrific here. Didn't need a script or have to refer to notes. Spoke English well, and have a lot of info about Russian life today.

Helsinki, Finland Did not visit port

This port got cancelled because of weather.

Nynashamn (Stockholm), Sweden

3 out of 5
Too far from Stockholm. Half of the tour time was sitting on the bus to get to and from Stockholm.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Very quick and expedient. No hang ups.
