I have to confess, NCL has been my cruise line of choice for several years and I have sailed on many of your competitors. But if this had been my first NCL experience, it would have been my last. The crew was the least friendly of any NCL cruise ship, I had problems with getting security in a very serious emergency situation, I felt demeened by the medical staff, and we found the entertainment on other NCL ships to be much more to our liking. Although we paid more for this mini-suite than we have paid previously for standard balcony cabins, this room was no larger, except for the bathroom. And who needs a double sink on a cruise ship?

We loved the illusionarium. But we missed the singing and dancing shows of other NCL ships. We did not enjoy Burn the Floor.
Service and Staff

Clinton in Shore Excursions is fabulous. He was the best customer service provider on the ship. Also, Victor who is with housekeeping in room 12898 did a superb job under challenging circumstances. Unlike other NCL ships, many of the crew just walk past guests without smiling and without an acknowledgment. This ship was less friendly than all the other NCL ships I've been on. Finally, I needed to be in the clinic on two occasions for acute gastroenteritis. On my first visit, the nurse acted as though she knew my body better than I do. Even though I told her what medicines work best for me, I was given what she thought best and my knowledge was ignored. I have a gastroenterologist and I know what works best for me. On my second visit, the doctor assumed I have diverticulitis which I clearly do not and he presumed I do not get colonoscopies which I clearly do regularly. I felt demeened by your medical staff. Finally, there was a serious altercation in the cabin next door. I thought someone was being beaten and tried to call for help. It took forever to get help & the emergency button on my phone did not work. I waited a long time on hold for anyone to come to the phone. When security finally came, I told the officer of this. The man next door was removed from the ship.

NCL ships are always kept immaculately clean, despite some of the guests leaving their discarded items in hallways and stairways. I am impressed how the crew does it.
Cabin / Stateroom
This is the first time we've had a mini-suite. It was actually smaller than the room my son and his family had (12898). We were disappointed that so much of the cabin size was devoted to the large (although beautiful) bathroom, where we spend little time. We had anticipated that a mini-suite would have a larger balcony and a bit more floor space to move around.
