Review summary

The cruise was over rated for being a new ship. It didn't provide enough entertainment for the duration of the 7 days. What little entertainment you had on board it was difficult to reserve a show ahead of time, every time I tried it was overbooked. Our stateroom was smaller than expected and not ready for us when we boarded the ship. Too many additional expenses for things that I feel should have been free on the ship. Our room attendant was a pleasant surprise, the complimentary restaurants had the same menus, the excursions were too expensive, ports didn't offer any entertainment on land and the gift shops were over priced. I would not recommend  this ship to any of family or friends. It was a great disappointment for being a year old ship, never again!!!

Have been on 12+ cruises on several different lines. I was on this ship twice in the last year and thought it was terrific. Can't wait to cruise on the Getaway again.

I've noticed that those complaining take up a lot of space! The positive replies are awesome... And most are right on the mark.... Cruising is what you make it...you've got to be a "glass is half full" kinda person. No vacation is perfect! If you book the Haven and have a bad time.... Then there is a problem!!! Looking forward to the Getaway in March and the Star in August!!!

Pre booking everything is the best way to go that way you don't have an onslaught of people all in one place at one time trying to do the same things also by doing this congestion is minimized

We were on the getaway last year it's a fabulous ship we had a fantastic time we are booked to go back on her in April .

Is it me or are all you complaints advised in advance? Oh wait. You have to read. WAIT you're a tourist gift shops are always overpriced. So your not recommending the ship itself based on what the ports offered? Pppssstttt (all the ships go to the same places) Cruising isn't for you my dear.

I was on Gateway and it's a wonderful ship! We booked a family interior and it was spacious with big closets and two bathrooms, all shows and restaurants were booked in advance. You get what you get and you don't get upset!

I'm going on this ship on December 27th for 14 nites and have planned and booked all my shows etc well in advance! If you've cruised on big ships before you would know that there are lots of passengers onboard more than likely all wanting to do the same things you want to so, so it makes sense to prepare for it before you go to save disappointment!! plus you holiday is what you make of it..

It's allllll about planning 😊 I've been planning mine over a year.... I book everything ahead of time and research what I want to do in each place and find amazing excursions ....

I CarrieBennett is right. If you want a bigger cabin you pay for it. I am going on this cruise this, Sunday and it's not my first time. I have booked all my shows and dining already. Its all about planning. There are 5000 people on the ship they have got to have a system. planning is key it will also save you money on excursions if you book and plan them before!!

Was this your first cruise? The rooms are stated online ... Interior are small but so much storage and who spend time there anyway....except to sleep...what was extra on ship you think shoulda been free? Drinks? They never are.... Excursions sometimes cost more from he ship you can save by booking in port... But you didn't like the ports either? Sounds like you were looking for a lot for free..

Wow that's disappointing and I'm sooo looking forward to our cruise in April same ports hopefully we'll have a better experience. What type of room did you have? Also don't they allow you to book entertainment in advance?
