Review summary
Having only cruised once before (and that time on another cruise line) I was anxious to try out Norwegian. I chose this particular cruise because it was on their new boat. After I had paid for the cruise and made my travel arrangements I read some reviews of the boat that made me a little nervous. Several people mentioned that they got sea sick because they could feel the boat rocking a lot. Embarkation was a breeze. Entertainment was fantastic. My two kids really enjoyed the water slides and the rope course as well as the arcade. They found that the pool area on the Norwegian Getaway was more fun and more exciting than RC Allure of the Seas as RC didn't have water slides and the other than the small pool on RC that had a current, there was nothing geared toward tween kids. The kids' area on the pool deck on RC was more for toddlers and the other pools were too crowded. We had fun on the excursions. The boat was clean. The food was good although I would have liked to see more Caribbean food offered as we were on a Caribbean cruise. I did feel the boat rocking (never felt it on Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas but then that was a much bigger boat) but it wasn't so bad especially considering there was a storm at sea at the same time. We didn't really experience bad weather but I could see the rolling of the swells when I stepped out on the balcony. I found the room felt smaller than on Royal Caribbean's Allure of the Seas but it was not so small as to be of any concern. Staff was friendly and efficient. My daughter's were bored on Royal Caribbean's kid's club last year (they are now 10 and 12 years old) and were reluctant to try the one on Norwegian. They only went on the last day because they didn't want to go shopping in the Bahamas. They LOVED it and went back after dinner. The staff checked in with me when the kids checked themselves out of the club so I knew where they were. I would sail with Norwegian again.

Ship tip
Definitely go to Illusionarium, it's a great show. Burn the Floor is fantastic. Had a great time at Howl at the Moon. The food at La Cucina is delicious. Taste and Savor serve the same menus. Tropicana is complimentary (included in your price) and makes a nice break from the Garden Cafe
