Will never do NCL again. 2nd time and disappointed both times 15 years apart. Food was terrible. Service only ok.

Getting on was easy but no one tells you that you can't get into your room for hours and when you do you won't have your luggage till 5 to 6 pm.

Food and Dining

Lousy food and no variety. Same menu every night except for a couple specials each night. Constant upsell for more expensive food and wine. Even with an unlimited drink plan they try to sell you more expensive wines
Onboard Activities

Pools were nice but the music got so loud you couldn't talk.
Entertainment

Most shows were very good. The Broadway show was super boring. The comedian did the same show again on the last night which was boring hearing the same jokes again.
Children's Programs
15 and 18 year old kids
Service and Staff

Upsell from waiters. Steward was ok but why only once a day? When we spilled a Pina colada on the carpet they gave us towels to mop it up. No one ever washed the carpet. How many spills are on that carpet. Pretty gross.

Size would be fine for 2 for 4 way too crowded. And not enough storage for 4.
Ship tip
Bring a carry on with a bathing suit cause you won't get into your room till about 4 and no luggage for even longer.
Well, I've been cruising 2x a year for the past 10 years, and I keep coming back to the Norwegian Gem as my favorite ship despite trying at least 4 other cruise lines. Mind you, the breakaway class ships from Norwegian are a disappointment, but this ship in particular is everything I want in a cruise. The only ship I've been on so far that has beaten this ship is the QE2 from Cunard, but that is an entire different class of ships. For the budget cruise ships, this one is my favorite.
I’m afraid you are going to be disappointed on pretty much every cruise line, since most of what you complained about are standard. Might want to stick to land based vacations.
Everyone gets notified ahead of time of what time they need to be out of the cabin on the last day. It shouldn’t be a surprise. Also I have never had anyone try to upsell me in a dining room or a bar. Anything extra that I purchased was my own decision, and that is a rare occurrence.
Oh yikes! Sorry to hear ~ but ah, well the things you've mentioned here were standard 15 years ago as well. Best of luck & wishing you happy cruising on your next
🤩⚓️😎❣️‼️
Uh…most things you complained about are standard practice. No one gets into their rooms immediately. Luggage arrives much later. Menus are pretty much set. One cleaning per day. Simple math reveals that a regular cabin spells misery for four people.
