This was our first cruise. Probably won't do another
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Went nice and smooth
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Food was extremely salty. The options were not impressive at all. Both the buffet and restaurants served the same things night after night. The "themed" nights were disappointing.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Nighttime shows were good. Couldn't enjoy the casino because of all the smoking going on. It was disgusting. The atrium is far too small for this size ship. We had gone on an excursion, came back onboard, looking forward to the pools/jacuzzi. Once ready, we went onto deck and the pool and jaczzies were closed due to someone having an accident in one. Wasn't ships fault but we paid to use them and was unable to.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Great entertainment
Children's Programs
No kids with us
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Service and staff were great. However, because of language barriers, we had a hard time communicating with some of staff. Very frustrating.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Ship was very clean. The atrium is far too small for activities. There were people that just sat and sat and no one else had a turn to sit. We missed out on many activities because of lack of seating. Also, because we had an inside room with no window, we were very discouraged to find that the deck chairs are strapped down at 6pm. We were unable to enjoy the decks/sunrise/sunset because we weren't allowed to sit. When we asked about it, we were told that that is procedure.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
We expected a small room and that was fine. I just wish it didn't have a bunk on the side because it was hard to get in and out of bed with it so close to the bed.
We had 3 excursions, all had tour guides on them. Was confused by the different "stories" they all told. Seemed, at the time, they knew what they were talking about but once we did all 3, the conflicted comments and history left us not knowing who was telling us true facts or not. Horseshoe beach was nice but we were discouraged by the lack of pink sand. There wasn't any. It also was very pricey to rent chairs/tent there. Wouldn't do it again.
Everything went smoothly. We arrived, with our bags, an hour and a half before disembarking. Chairs or benches would have been nice to have while we waited with others.
@ Furrycat, sorry about your disappointment. And sorry you’re contemplating not cruising again. I cruised once & absolutely loved it! So I totally get the impact of your first cruise & the impression it creates. Hope your next vacation and/or cruise “if you decide to dive in” again is a wonderful one. 🤩⚓️😎❣️‼️
Appreciate your detailed feedback. Cruising isn’t for everyone. At least you tried it. While we a cruising fanatics we have very good friends that are not fans. Enjoy whatever type of vacation you choose. If you have friends that ask you to join them at least you have a baseline. Maybe go just to enjoy your friendship.
Sorry you were not pleased. Our family loves cruising, but we are not big fans of sea days. We like to think of a ship as a floating hotel. We went on a 7 day cruise once with 3 sea days, 2 of them back to back, and it was one of the worst cruises we have been on.
