Review summary

We were extremely disappointed with Guest services and their efforts as to help with our situation. We were taking this cruise in memory of a recently deceased loved one and there was no effort made to make arrangements for the disbursement of her ashes when requested . I completely understand that there are rules and procedures for such events, however when we contacted guest services there was no distinctive effort made to accommodate this very special request.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
The embarkation experience was quick and went ok, but there wasn't any effort made during embarkation to make it feel like we were going on a cruise.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
The buffet area seating was horrible. Barely enough seating space for a family let alone a group of 6 or more people.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Due to this being a winter cruise, we expected not to be too many out door activities however the indoor activities were very bland and limited as well.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The onboard entertainment was ok, nothing special. The vocalist performer tried to do his best and the onboard comedian was ok. Otherwise nothing really stood out.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
Arcade had limited games and half of them were not working properly. Seaclub area for kids was ok.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Staff did their job but didn't do anything above.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
Design was poor - and it became evident during the in-climate weather where travelling between sections required a round about way of getting there.

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
The cabin was cramped and the port window was not worth the upgrade.

Ship tip

First if all Sorry for your loss but when my mom passed I had to jump through quite a few hoops just to aquire permission from US Dept of Interior so her ashes could be spread at her beloved National Park. Hopefully, you found a peaceful portion of the sea for your loved one too

Even though you "completely understand that there are rules and procedures," you expected Guest Services to violate those rules to accommodate you. Are you always self-absorbed?
