Review summary

We were celebrating my daughter's 21st birthday while on this cruise so it was extra special. The crew of the Norwegian Gem were wonderful. For 7 days they became our friends. I would recommend this ship to people who can appreciate all that a smaller ship has to offer.

We ate at both the main dining rooms. While the food served at the Grand Pacific was fantastic, the food served at the Magenta was not as good. We also ate at Cagney's Steakhouse and it was FANTASTIC! The buffet had plenty to choose from and the variety was great. O'Sheehan's was great because it was open 24/7.

From or room steward to the bar staff and everybody in between we couldn't have asked for a nicer staff! A big shout out to Marlon Malimban for always keeping our room nice and clean and for the funny and cute towel designs.

Ship tip

If you are traveling with young adults make sure to get a separate room because our cabin, although slept 4, was cramped. You couldn't enjoy the balcony when the beds were down/open.

Acadia National Park was great. We got to experience it at low tide so we were able to enjoy the park before high tide came in. We also ate at a great seafood restaurant called Stewman's.
