It was just me and my child, and I found myself making heavy use of Splash Academy where the children go and play and you can do whatever. The staff was great and she had a lot of fun. I got to eat dinners in peace and go to the casino :). I didn't not realize that Great Stirrup Cay is basically a beach, that is all there is to do there, so people might want to know that. Not thrilled with the choice of tv programming available and $10 to watch a movie is very pricey. I've been on other cruises and this ship before and found out they no longer do the chocolate buffet, which is a shame. Usually the last night, the chefs do a whole bunch of intricate carvings and people line up to see it and take pictures and then they open it up for eating, but no more. :(
Overall it was nice, the Duo Aura show was amazing and recommend it to everyone.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
It was fine, long lines that you had to wait in, but they moved along smoothly. We had to wait about an hour for our rooms to be ready and wait longer for luggage to arrive, but overall went well.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
I like the freestyle cruising, so you don't have a set time to eat dinner. The dining rooms were good, I liked that as soon as I was done with a plate at the Magenta, they whisked it away and brought the next thing. It took longer at the big dining room. I didn't do an specialty restaurants this time around. The buffets were okay, mostly they were variations of the same thing, I give them 7 out of 10.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
I was with my child and all she wanted to do was swim and play, so we did enjoy the pool a lot. I really didn't partake of much else besides the casino. I wanted to do some of the activities but the times conflicted with other things.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Having been on this ship before, I only went to a couple shows because I knew some were not my thing. I enjoyed the comedy, would have liked another night of a comedian or possibly a magician. The Duo Aura was fantastic, everyone should see them.
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
They were great, every night was something different, and my daughter wanted to go there all the time. And they had a great system for keeping the kids safe.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Everyone was very nice and remembered us from day to day. I have cruised several times before and did not realize that the tips do not get shared by the room steward, who of all people deserves the tips. But everyone was absolutely great.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
They kept it clean almost to a fault. The layout is fine, I had been on this ship before so I knew that you couldn't get to certain floors from certain places, you had to go up and around. I wish the pools were bigger but they are about the same with any ship of their size.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The cabin was comfortable, I liked the layout. The shower was relaxing. Tv could have been bigger and had better channels. There were about 5 or 6 news channels and 1 for tv shows. But mostly you don't spend time in the cabin unless you're showering or sleeping.
Ship tip
The late night food isn't all that great, it's just snacks.
This beach was much nicer, but that was all they had to do, beach stuff. I wanted somewhere to explore. They did have complimentary food and drink since it was owed by the cruise line, so that was good.
We went on a glass-bottom boat ride and saw lots of fish and some celebrity houses. It was cool, would have liked another day in this port to enjoy the Bahamas.
