Review summary

I took a lot of time on planning and picking this specific cruise for myself and my family, in addition to a lot of money being spent. I was disappointed because of all the changes made to the itinerary of the trip, it cause major changes in our vacation. First we lost an hour in Florida, without any explanation as to why. Our days were switched in Bahamas due to their election day, however with as much travel this cruise line does back and forth from there, they should have been aware ahead of time. This caused many of the excursions to be cancelled, that we were looking forward to taking apart in. And we never even were able to make our final stop to Great Stirrup Cay. Very very disappointed due to how I carefully picked this trip for the excitement it offered. Very upsetting as I have only heard great things and this was my first cruise, I was overly excited as I am now greatly disappointed

I couldn't agree more.  This was our first and last Norwegian cruise.

I have been on 3 cruises since retiring in 2010 to both the Florida and Bahamas trips as well as the Caribbean on Norwegian and so far the cruises have been most enjoyable! I think that some people who are first time cruisers might have grandiose expectations about what a cruise is all about and then end up disappointed when they don't get what they want. Everyone tries their best to make over 2000 people happy and comfortable out in the middle of the ocean for a week or two can be challenging, so patience, consideration, courtesy and understanding is ALWAYS appreciated! Just relax and enjoy the fact that you don't have to cook, wash dishes or laundry, clean and chase after the kids because it is ALL being done for you!😁

When you cruise you must read the contract you signed NCL clearly states that your itinerary can be changed . Most of the time it is out of the cruise lines hands, weather, unsafe island conditions etc. I hope next time you would consider this, Vacations are what YOU make of it little potholes in your travels should not stop you from having a great time!

I'm sorry your vacation didn't live up to your expectations. For other first time cruisers, and for future adventures, please be aware that all cruisers are susceptible to change for many reasons. Take a cruise to enjoy the ship, relaxation and time away from your usual life, without great expectations. Be flexible with your wants. If you have high expectations to see something specific. you might be better off planning a vacation directly whether you want to go. To me, cruising is relaxing and forgetting the day to day world for a few days.

I know it doesn't fix things but did you happen to buy travel insurance to be reimbursed for the missed excursions?
