We had a fantastic time... by lah572

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Escape

We had a fantastic time on our cruise to Bermuda. We just got back yesterday. The crew were amazing, the food delicious and the entertainment I did see was great. I highly recommend you try this cruise line. Bermuda was fun. The weather wasnt the best, but we didn't let that stop us from having a wonderful time. We ate at cagneys steak house, Modernos Brazilian steak house and La Cucina Italian restaurant. All was done very well. The Taste and Savior was where we had breakfast every morning. Garden Cafe was great for a quick snack. The bars were very good as well. We met some great people.

Wonderful cruise by glasssea

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Bermuda

I really enjoyed the two days on the ocean. I met so many wonderful people, guest and staff. I was impressed how efficient the boat ran. It's amazing how the staff can handle so many people for food and entertainment and have it all work out fabulously. The rope walk was fun to do. The food delicious. The drinks great. Marco and Chris were the best behind the bar.

Trip to Maine and Canada. by friends311

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

Food in dining rooms could have been MUCH better. Had some very disappointing meals. Decided to stick to the Garden cafe mostly. I've had better food prep on Carnival and Celebrity. The solo studio and studio lounge were great and I enjoyed the get-togethers with other solo travelers. The entertainment was enjoyable.

Beautiful Big Clean ship!!! The... by Blondy

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Escape

Beautiful Big Clean ship!!! The crew was sooo happy and saying hi except for one bartender at O’Sheenan’s (excuse the spelling)the last night we were at sea! The stateroom was beautiful and our steward always kept it clean, plus we love the towel animals when we got back to the room at night. Comedy club was sooo funny wish I could have seen a few more but so much to do! Port was always great! That’s why I love going back to Bermuda. We did the inner tube slide on the last sea day,and I had soo much fun on it!!! Laughed sooo loud and wish I did it earlier! So thanks NCL. We will be back! 😊😊😊💕💕🛳

Food sucked. Specialty dining... by Tonsters

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Escape

Food sucked. Specialty dining at Moderno was meh. How does a rodizio place make a hockey puck of filet? Spa was nice, def was worth the extra money. Disembarkation was a cluster. They destroyed my luggage! Will go back to Carnival.

We had the most amazing... by katerodriguez

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Escape

We had the most amazing time and can’t wait to sail again on the escape! Food was great in every restaurant we ate at. Cagneys dinner was by far our favorite we went back a second time. The thermal spa pass was well worth the extra money and we will never cruise without it. You can escape to the spa when feeling overwhelmed by the party or we enjoyed to start or end the day that way. Something for everyone in any of the amenities they offer. (Sauna, Saunarium, Steam Room, Snow Room, Salt Bath, Therapy Pool, Hot Tub) don’t forget the amazing views while in the spa. Our room steward Jose was very nice and was constantly checking in with us to make sure we had everything needed. We had a few waiters who we “followed” to certain areas because they were that good! Fidel on the sundeck/casino/margaritaville, Ravi in the brewhouse/sundeck to name a few. Yes this is a big ship and there are a ton of people, only certain times felt “congested” as you would expect with 4000+ people ie embarking and disembarking. With that being said, we didn’t think it was as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Bermuda is a beautiful island and we only had a short time but we enjoyed all three beaches we explored. Horseshoe bay, Tobacco bay and Elbow beach.

First time to Bermuda by akaGrandmaJo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Bermuda

We enjoyed our cruise very much. We have sailed 9 times on Carnival, twice on RCCL, ,and this was our first cruise with NCL. We would sail any of them again. RCCL is our favorite so far, and Carnival and NCL are tied for second. NCL wins hands down for entertainment, and Carnival has a slight edge for staff and food. I would love to pass along some excellent advice I received from seasoned cruisers: Don't get stuck in the rut of sailing only one cruiseline. Try them all and see for yourself. IMO, it's not worth limiting ourselves to one cruiseline to reach priority level. We were determined to reach Platinum on Carnival, but forum friends convinced us to branch out. We are so glad we did. If we ever get priority status on a cruise line, that will be great, but at this point, we will sail on the ship with the best bang for our buck for our desired itinerary.

Great Bermuda cruise with friends and family by obrien178992

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Bermuda

The ship was great. Embarkation was smooth. Debarkation took longer because customs only had 5 windows open for so many people. Even though it had over 4000 guests the ship never felt overcrowded. There were lots of food options and it was mostly all delicious. We did feel that there were a lot of things (food and entertainment) that had an upcharge. The staff were all very friendly and the ship was well maintained and clean. The kids loved the waterslides. Bermuda was amazing. We felt safe and were able to freely explore the island using public transportation (buses and ferries) and day passes. We definitely want to go back.

The Escape is a gorgeous,... by afahey

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Escape

The Escape is a gorgeous, immaculate ship that looks like she just sailed from the ship yard for the first time. *Our room steward, Ulysses, was fantastic!! We had a balcony room, which, although more narrow than most, provided plenty of space and storage for our 7 day cruise. The bathroom is large (for a cruise ship) with a glass door shower and TONS of storage and towels-we were given 4 of each towel every time Ulysses tidied up. Our ice bucket was always full and we never had to ask for anything. *The layout of the ship is easy to navigate once you get your bearings. There are plenty of elevators and there was very rarely a wait. The only negatives are the placement of the casino as it’s located around 1 of the 2 atriums. The smoke drifts into the atrium and completely ruins the ambiance of the terrazzo seating at the French restaurant, LeBistro. You also need to walk through the casino to get from one end of the deck to another (the Manhattan dining room is located at the one end). If you’re sensitive to cigarette smoke, I recommend avoiding the casino area all together. *The food is fabulous! NCL has the best desserts of any of the cruise lines I’ve tried (Carnival, RC & Princess). There’s food for every palate around the ship. If you go hungry, it’s your own fault!! We had the dining package and ate at La Cucina and Cagney’s (twice, it was that good!). We also had meals at the buffet, O’Sheehan’s, Margaritaville, which is an upcharge but good, Taste & Savor (both have the same menu) and the Manhattan dining room. All of them were excellent. I highly recommend lunch at Taste or Savor, the food is delicious. Sadly, the weather was cold and rainy so we were not able to enjoy the Waterfront dining/seating. The staff could not be nicer!! The cruise director, Mandy, is great; full of spunk and energy. You’ll see her everywhere!! The “Washy Washy” girls are hilarious in their promotion of using hand sanitizer before entering the buffet. The servers and bartenders are eager to please and very friendly. *Our only disappointment was the weather, which was pretty terrible all week and the cancellation of our stop in Bar Harbor due to rough seas, wind and fog. This was unavoidable and completely understandable, as tendering was clearly not an option. NCL quickly issued refunds for any tours that had been booked and gave credits of $27 a piece. They also issued a brand new activity schedule for the day to make sure everyone had something to do if they so chose. *Embarkation and Debarkation were a piece of cake. Our scheduled arrival time was 12-12:30. We were on the ship by 12:15. Our rooms were ready at 1:00. We chose to do self-assist check-out, which they called even earlier than expected. We were off the ship, through customs and in our car by 8:00am! Overall, we loved this cruise and will definitely sail on the Escape again in the future!

Just got home yesterday from... by DawnMont

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Escape

Just got home yesterday from our 7 day New England/Canada cruise. Weather wasn't the best but no one's fault. Got upgrade to mini suite which was very nice...especially the bathroom! Neither of our room keys would work to open our cabin door. Had to retry numerous times. Food was fabulous as always. Wasn't crazy about lack of seating in the atrium for shows. Need a bigger area for them. Loved Choir of Men!!!! This ship didn't have mid ship elevators so there was quite a bit of congestion at the elevators. Cruise director Mandy did a great job. Our room steward Ronell was wonderful. LaCucina staff were the only ones that didn't seem happy. Wanted to buy a Maine shirt but couldn't get through the MOB of people quick enough to grab one on the last sea day. There were lots of other shirts from other ports we didn't go to.....why???? Overall, we had a relaxing trip.

Northern Cruise by Anniversary1983

Very disappointed with all the hidden fees example 14.50 per person per day charged as a service fee. Taxes in beverages while in port. Restaurant fees. Ship was beautiful and staff was friendly.

I paid a lot of money for a cruise to nowhere by memec

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Bermuda

I understand there was a hurricane in the area. Norwegian could have done the right thing and given a credit towards a future cruise like some of the other lines did. Instead they laughed all the way to the bank. Shows what they think of their frequent cruisers. Not sure I will cruise with them again.

Five Stars by skip000

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Bermuda

Stayed in The Havens room 17728..which is a courtyard penthouse category.Room was nice, balcony larger than most, but the location of this room meant noisy at night while trying to sleep... doors ,3 of them ,very near by ,slamming all night long and sound of moving deck furniture, which is right behind this stateroom ,is bothersome when it is happening at 400 am in the morning. Also this cabin had a loud creaking noise in the ceiling which only happened when the ship was moving, which is usually every night. But other than that... the experience was wonderful and we loved The Havens. It’s entire staff, including the wait staff in The Haven Dining Room was beyond excellent.Boardingthe ship was fast and simple.Leaving the ship with customs was also surprisingly fast and trouble free. The food at The Havens and specialty restaurants was amazing. We hardly ever ate elsewhere.I have done many many NCL Haven trips and would do it again... just not in that cabin, as normally the cabins in The Havens are extremely quiet
